Rolling his pink suitcase to the edge of the staircase and putting it against Blaines black, duffel bag, Kurt lifted his fingertips to his lips and rubbed to keep them from trembling. He blinked away the tears in his eyes at the sound of Blaines voice from upstairs as he spoke on the phone with an airport attendant. "Its only two weeks away from home." Kurt reminded himself, trying to be brave. "And I wont be alone. Ill be with Blaine."
Kurt glanced over his shoulder at the sound of a jingling bell, and he pressed his lips together at the sight of Pavarotti digging at his cage bars, his beak wrapped around one and tugging. "Pavarotti," he whispered, returning to his bird and opening the cage door. Pavarotti hopped into Kurts hand. "Im sorry I have to leave you. I would love to bring you."
Pavarotti twittered and cocked his head, his beady eyes staring up at Kurt as if he was wondering if Kurt was leaving him for good. Pressing a kiss to the side of Pavarottis head, Kurt tried to smile when he heard him chirp. "I love you, too, Pavarotti. Its only two weeks, I promise."
Pavarotti whistled when Kurts door opened and Blaine walked in, taking his duffel bag under his arm. "Kurt, baby, the limo just pulled in. Im going to take your stuff upstairs, and your dads ready to take Pavarotti now if you want to say goodbye-Kurt?" Blaine hesitated, his narrowed eyes on Kurts pouty face. His brows lowered, "Hey... whats the matter, baby? Kurt... you dont have to go on this trip. One call and I can make everything go away."
Kurt shook his head, still stroking Pavarottis back, "Its not... the trip. I... I dont want to leave Pavarotti. Ill miss him so much."
Blaine got a little closer to Kurt, and he bent down and kissed his nose, "You dont have to leave him, sweetheart. Shh..." Wiping away tear streaks on Kurts round cheeks, he murmured, "Let me grab his cage. You can take him with you." After he got Kurt to calm down, he kissed his salty lips. "Mm... I love you."
Kurt gently hugged Blaine, "Thank you. I would have been so sad without him." Putting Pavarotti on his shoulder, Kurt got up and followed Blaine up the stairs. After he hugged his dad goodbye, he pushed through the front door. Blaine stayed inside for a few more minutes, calling someone else to confirm flight details.
He saw the limo parked in his driveway, a shorter one with a lower ceiling, but still very nice and comfortable. Walking up to it, he politely smiled at a man who opened the door for him. "Monsieur Hummel, good day to you."
"Thank you." Slipping inside the limo, he sat down in the middle seat, then looked around. A TV hung from the ceiling, and there was a mini fridge in the corner. He let Pavarotti step off his shoulder to explore.
After a few more minutes, the door opened again and Blaine stepped in. He sat down by Kurt, wrapping his arm around his shoulders. Pavarotti hopped onto his shoe and played with the strings, amusing himself. Snuggling into Blaines side, Kurt sighed and closed his eyes, feeling Blaines hands in his hair.
The limo pulled out of his driveway and got farther away from his house. He held onto Blaine, his cheek on his chest, and Blaine kept his hands in his hair. When they got close to the airport, Blaine lifted one hand from Kurts hair and offered it to Pavarotti, who was still sitting on his shoe. "Come here, Pavarotti."
Pavarotti climbed up his fingers, and he put the bird on his shoulder. Gathering Kurt in his arms, Blaine reached for the door handle, and he helped Kurt out. After Blaine got their things from the limo driver, he took Kurts hand and led him into the airport. It wasnt that busy, so they were able to find the girls easily.
Blaine was unhappy to see them at one of the tables, not just because he didnt like them but because he liked being alone with Kurt. Glancing at Kurt who had tightened his fingers a little, he saw his polite smile, one that didnt pop his dimples or make his eyes sparkle.
Rolling his eyes when they jerked up at the sight of them approaching and started squealing, Blaine stood back and let Kurt say hello to them. He had to bite his cheek to keep himself from growling when someones-he wasnt sure whose-hand swung at him. "What a cute bird!"
Kurt smiled and held his hand up for Pavarotti to climb onto, "Merci. This is Pavarotti, Blaines Christmas present to me."
Blaine was tired of the small talk, so he took Kurts small wrist in his hand, "You want to find our flight attendant?"
While the girls rolled their eyes at him and whispered something to each other, Kurt nipped his bottom lip, "Oh, sure." He followed Blaine, who was taking unusually long strides, over to the gates for the planes. Skittering to keep up with him, Kurt held onto his arm and let him half carry him. "Blaine, are you okay?"
Blaine shot a deathly glare over his shoulder, and Kurt realized that he was still resentful toward the girls. Pressing his lips together, Kurt went around the corner with him, where a man was waiting for them. Blaine let Kurt go and took a few more strides to talk things over with the man. Hearing the girls a few feet away, Kurt made out Blaines name and a few bitter words, mostly from Rachel.
Wrapping his arms around himself, Kurt scampered over to Blaine and clung to his arm. Blaine felt very tense, and Kurt knew that it was because of the girls. He finished talking to the man and turned to Kurt, taking his little hand again. "The man said our jet is just outside that gate. Come on, baby."
Kurt flinched when he heard Tina scoff from behind them, "What a freak."
Keeping on Blaines heels as best he could, Kurt walked down a hallway that connected to their jet. A man was waiting at the doorway, and he let Blaine go by, but he stopped Kurt. "Monsieur Hummel, you look well."
Kurt didnt know the man, but he tried to look thankful for the compliment. "Oh, merci."
The man handed him a glass of water, "In case youre thirsty... You can ask for anything you want. We got a call from your designer, Unique, and he said he arrived in New York this morning. Hell be waiting at the hotel for you."
"Thank you." Kurt murmured, switching back to English. After the man walked away, he turned around and gasped at the sight of the girls squished on one sofa, and Blaine lurking in the corner on the other side of the jet. He didnt look happy, which made Kurt very regretful that hed invited the girls. He had no idea Blaine felt so distastefully about them.
"Kurt, come sit with us." Mercedes called, even though there wasnt a spot on the sofa.
"Oh, thank you, but Id like to sit with Blaine." Padding across the plane, Kurt sat down on one of the sofas and patted the spot beside him. "Blaine."
Peeling off the wall, Blaine kept his back to the girls, making his dislike very clear. He threw himself down beside of Kurt, making Kurt and the cushion bounce a little. Turned away from the girls as if he didnt even want to look at them, he tugged on Kurt and let him lay down in his lap.
Kurt rested his cheek on Blaines thigh, rolling over slightly so he didnt have to see the girls awful expressions. They looked disgusted with Blaine, and Kurt didnt like that. Squeezing his eyes shut, Kurt held onto Blaine and felt his hands come to his hair, gently stroking him.
Kurt felt the limo come to a stop in front of their hotel, and he peeked out the window to see their amazing hotel. It was towering and bright with a fountain in front of it, and so many people were hurrying in and out. Glancing at Blaine when he unstrapped him, Kurt put his hand on his thigh and squeezed. Their driver walked around to his door and opened it, so Kurt swung his legs out.
A young boy was waiting by the doors, his arms crossed tightly over his chest. "Unique!" Kurt called, waving his hands. He giggled when the boy glanced up, "Hi!"
Blaine reached out and held onto Kurt, pushing through the piles of people. He tried to stay hidden, feeling insecure in his gray sweatshirt and jeans that werent even designer. Everyone around him had on jewels and silk and cashmere, which made him realize that he didnt belong here. Clinging to Kurt as he said hello to his designer, Blaine alertly jerked his head up when he heard his name.
The boy was staring at him, looking him up and down, so Blaine wrapped one arm around himself to hide his sweatshirt and used his other hand to pull his hair over his forehead. Finally puckering his mouth, the boy arched his brows, "This is Blaine, the amazing man you told me about?"
Kurt seemed unaware of the boys bitter tone, "Mm hm." Blaine was shocked that Kurt had mentioned him to a famous person from France, and he felt his cheeks get hot with embarrassment. Rubbing Blaines arm, Kurt chirped, "Blaine, this is my designer, Unique."
Before Blaine could say anything, Unique snapped his fingers, "Lets go inside before the paparazzi sniff you out. Im sure everyones dying to know what Ohio has done to you. Looks like its already begun its damage." Smirking at Kurts outfit, Unique turned around and strutted through a pathway people had made for him. Blaine remembered when people used to make pathways for him, but now he felt his shoulders getting bumped.
Still holding onto Kurt, Blaine followed them into the hotel. He could hear the girls giggling behind them, and he was disappointed that they hadnt gotten lost in the crowd. "Our rooms are on the top floor. The girls will be staying together, and, Kurt, you and Blaine will share a room. I want you to rest well tonight because Stanley will be able to see your bags."
Kurt touched under his eyes to check for bags, then he wrinkled his brows in confusion. Scurrying after Unique, who was stepping onto an elevator, Kurt stayed by Blaines side. Blaine wrapped a soothing arm around him, keeping his distance from the snorting girls. After a very long and uncomfortable ride up, the doors finally slid open.
Unique quickly twisted around before all of the girls were off the elevator, and he passed out the keys. "Kurt, you have a spa treatment tomorrow morning at nine. You all have room service coming. If thats all, Im going to my room to shower and moisturize."
Blaine was relieved when Unique finally turned away and disappeared into his room, and then the girls skittered off and locked themselves in their room. Kurt, who was petting a sleepy Pavarotti, murmured to Blaine, "Are you coming to bed? I cant wait to lay down and relax. My feet are so sore."
"Ill rub them if you want." Blaine walked on Kurts heels over to their room, and he stuck the card in the door. It clicked open, so Blaine pushed the rest of the way in. Their room was very dark with a big bed in the middle, plump with pillows and heavy blankets. A hot tub was off to the side, and there was a vanity next to their closet.
"Oh, this is perfect!" Kurt cooed, tiptoeing inside and running his fingers over the soft sheets. "Mm... these blankets are so cozy and warm." Sitting down on the edge of the bed, Kurt scooted up to the pillows and curled into a tiny ball. "I think I want a dip in the hot tub and then to snuggle in your arms."
Finally relaxed, Blaine reached for the bottom of his sweatshirt and tugged it over his head. When he reappeared, his hair was ruffled and he looked dazed from exhaustion. "That sounds good, baby. But I want to eat something first. Im really hungry."
When Kurt started smoothing the blankets, someone knocked on the door. Blaine assumed it was their room service and went to open it, finding two men with their luggage and a tray of food. Blaine took Kurts suitcase and his duffel bag from them, then carried the tray over to the bed after he thanked them.
Kurt plopped in the middle of the bed and happily smiled at the tray, "It smells yummy."
Blaine opened one of the containers, revealing two croissants filled with jelly. Picking up one of them, he cupped Kurts tiny face in his hand. "Come here." Kurts little jaw swung open, and Blaine put the croissant in his mouth.
Kurt munched on the tasty treat, moaning with pleasure. "Oh... so good. Let me feed you one." Excitedly popping onto his knees, Kurt reached into the container while Blaine fell back on the bed, holding himself up with his palms. He climbed over Blaine, straddling his chest, and put the sweet between his lips.
"Really good." Blaine agreed, keeping his eyes on Kurt as he chewed.
Kurt searched through the rest of the containers, and he picked up the one with the salad. Putting a leaf in his mouth, Kurt handed the container to Blaine, who took a bite of the lettuce. He set it aside and reached for the glasses of sparkling grape juice, giving one of them to Kurt.
Sipping from his, Kurt laid down on the bed and stroked Blaines hard cheek as he drank. He felt his skin move with every swallow, his stubble scratching him. "Youre very handsome."
Blaine pulled the glass away from his mouth, giving Kurt another kiss, "And youre so beautiful."
Smiling at him, he nuzzled closer and rubbed their noses. He laid his lashes on his cheeks. "I think I want to take a dip in the water."
Lifting his pale lids, Kurt rolled off the bed and put his toes on the floor. He stretched his arms above his head and slipped from his sweater dress. Wiggling from his panties, Kurt padded over to the hot tub. His dimpled butt jiggled as he dipped his feet in. "Oh..." he sat down in the water that came up to his shoulders, "this feels so good."
"Want me to get in with you?" Tucking a strand of hair behind his ear, Blaine stood up when Kurt smiled at him. He stripped of his clothes, throwing them aside, and walked over to Kurt. Stepping in on the other side of the hot tub, Blaine drifted over to Kurt and pulled his slippery body onto his thighs, his little back against his chest.
Resting his cheek on Blaines shoulder, Kurt lifted his toes from the water and curled them, showing how wrinkled they were. "Oh, Blaine... this is amazing."
He pressed a kiss to Kurts shoulder, "Mm... I like this, baby. I like holding you." Stroking Kurts damp hair, Blaine moved his hand down to Kurts nape and gently rubbed. "Do you feel good?"
Kurt smiled, leaning into Blaines talented fingers, "I feel wonderful. Mm... youre so comfortable and warm." Swinging his legs around, Kurt cuddled into Blaines chest, his eyes closing. Obviously exhausted from traveling all day, Kurt went limp against Blaine in moments. His cheeks softened and his breathing got deeper, which made Blaine smirk.
Carefully standing from the water, Blaine picked Kurt up and cradled him against his chest. He stepped out of the hot tub and felt water dripping off of him as he carried Kurt over to the bed. Peeling back the sheets, Blaine laid Kurt down and kissed his forehead, then slipped in beside him. He wrapped Kurt in his arms, feeling him sigh against his chest. "Youre so sweet..." he whispered, kissing his pretty hair. Snuggling closer, Kurt murmured Blaines name.
