You think I'm pretty
Without any makeup on
You think I'm funny
When I tell the punchline wrong
I know you get me
So I let my walls come down, down
It was a late afternoon when Sawyer Hummel-Anderson found the tape. The little fingers covered in strawberry jam, the evidence left from his triangular shaped sandwiches left smudges on the plastic case that held the DVD. In his five (and a quarter!) years of life, thanks to his Uncle Sammy, Sawyer had become the owner of quite the movie collection. However unlike his favourite Batman film, this cover did not show the image of the "greatest superhero in the world" but rather a photograph of his daddies.
The photo was of Kurt and Blaine sharing their first kiss in the common room of Dalton Academy many years ago. The intimate moment was captured, unknown to the pair at the time, by their once fellow warbler Nick, whom had difficulties minding his own business. As his little fingers, traced the image, Sawyer did not recognise his daddies at first, he simply thought the film must be about two handsome princes. A closer look and a set of bright blue eyes shot into giant orbs as Sawyer sprang to his feet in search of his daddy, tape in hand.
Before you met me
I was alright but things
Were kinda heavy
You brought me to life
Now every February
You'll be my Valentine, Valentine
Let's go all the way tonight
No regrets, just love
We can dance, until we die
You and I, will be young forever
"Daddy B! Daddy B!"
Blaine barely had enough time to register that his name was being called before he had a lap full of 5 year old, effectively knocking over the laundry basket of folded clothes on the progress.
"What's up Bud?" Blaine questioned as he maneuvered Sawyer to a comfortable position on his lap. Sawyer gripped his daddy's shirt with one hand and used the other to wave the DVD around in Blaine's face. Sawyer's blonde hair was a wild mess with all the excitement and Blaine was finding it very hard not to giggle at the adorableness of his son. Sawyer took and breath and stopped moving the DVD long enough for Blaine to piece together what Sawyer's question would be.
"Daddy B, what is this?"
You make me feel
Like I'm livin' a
Teenage dream
The way you turn me on
I can't sleep
Let's run away and
Don't ever look back,
Don't ever look back
"Nick what is this?"
