Chapter 6
A couple of months have passed since Kurt joined Dalton. He auditioned and became a member of the warblers. He made some great friends and is doing well in all his classes. Plus his and Blaine’s friendship had grown amazingly which was a great benefit for Kurt except for the fact that his crush on Blaine grew too. Each little whisper and smile the boys shared even if they were just watching a movie would make Kurt melt inside. ‘This really isn’t good’ Kurt thought. ‘He is my best friend at Dalton plus neighbour. There is too much to lose.’ Kurt sighed. He knew Blaine would never like him like that, but he can’t help but hope.
Blaine it seemed was having the exact same kind of trouble except he was rather more vocal with it. Wes came round to see what was up with the warbler earlier and found him pacing his room muttering to himself and pulling his hair.
“Hey okay stop walking and let go of your hair.” Wes said trying to calm down Blaine
“ergh” Was Blaine’s reply but he did it anyway.
“Erm English?”
“why Wes? Why!” Blaine said the frustration clearly evident in his voice.
“Why what Blaine?” Wes questioned him trying to make some sense
“why do I feel like this. I shouldn’t feel like this.”
“Like what?” Wes said really not getting his friend now,
“every time I see him I get butterflies. Every time he speaks I can’t help but smile or laugh. When he hurt I’m hurt and he doesn’t care that I act like an idiot. He just perfect and I know I have no hope with him so why!” Blaine practically screamed the last word.
Wes starting to finally understand the situation broke out into a huge grin. “Awww Blaineys in love.”
Blaine gave Wes a death glare. “I can’t be! He is my best friend!” clearly still frustrated.
“Awww Blaine’s in love with kurt.” Wes said not being able to help himself but patronise Blaine.
“This is no time to joke around.” Blaine all but growled. For once David was on Blaine’s side.
“I agree Wes,” David said but he had a slight twinkle of mischief in his eye. “We shouldn’t patronise Blaine yet, we need to console him and get klaine together, then we can patronise them” David and Wes snickered.
“Klaine?” Blaine asked curiously
“it is your couple name. A couple of us warblers knew that you two liked each other for like the past two or three months. It’s not a surprise really.” David explained, noticing the way Blaine smiled while mumbling ‘klaine’ to himself.
“Well Blainey… what are you going to do about it?”
Blaine face dropped. “I don’t know. I really wish I did. Sighing to himself he said, I will talk to you guys later. I have a headache and am going to take a nap. Maybe then I will be able to think clearly.” He shrugged a goodbye and walked off. Once Wes was sure Blaine was gone he turned to David.
“So what is the plan?” Wes questioned noticing David pulling out his phone,
“one step ahead of you Wes... Ah yes hello Mercedes.” David said with a sly smile on his lips and Wes tried to hold in a laugh of excitement. Operation ‘klaine’ is a go.
Mercedes was sitting on her bed talking to the glee girls online while trying to do her homework. This was proving nearly impossible as Rachel and Tina were having an argument over which song would be the best song to sing in glee club this week for the assignment. Mercedes huffed to herself sometimes she wonders where Mr Schuster got his ideas from I mean seriously who would make singing a song which you wouldn’t normally sing a task. She understood it was to expand her horizons but she thinks that it has caused too much fuss. What made Mercedes laugh, was that Mr Schuster had pointed Rachel out and said that her song could not at a Streisand song or from Broadway. Tina simply suggested doing something by Carly Rae Jepson and BOOM all hell broke loose. Shaking her head and turning away from the screen Mercedes noticed her phone was vibrating picking it up she smiled as she noticed David’s name appear. As much as she would deny it to Kurt, she did have a crush on David. He was amazing.
“Hello?” she answered,
“Ah yes hello recedes. We need your help.”
“What with?” she asked curiously
“well you and the glee girls. Basically, we have had dear little Blaine here stressing over his feelings for one Kurt Hummel. And we know for a fact that Kurt likes him back but Blaine is failing to see sense so we need to plan to get klaine together.” David said. His voice never failed to make Mercedes smile, but this news shook her out of her teenage girlish trance,
“Finally!” she all but sighed, “How about we meet for coffee and I will bring some of the glee girls. You can bring Wes as I know he is right there next to you,”
“Hey Mercedes,” Wes said amused. Wes could see the obvious way this girl turned David to mush, after kurt and blaine are together, these two will be his next victims… he means targets.
“Hey Wes. Anyway so I will see you at the lima bean in about half an hour?”
“Defiantly. Bye Mercedes.” David said.
“You are so whipped” Wes laughed at the blush which spread across his bets friends face.
Back at Mercedes house she quickly typed a message to the girls.
“Girls. Lima bean is there for half an hour, I’m meeting David and Wes we are getting klaine together. Blaine has finally admitted being in love with Kurt but refuses to acknowledge that Kurt likes him too.” As soon as she sent the message practically all the girls replied, “FINALLY!” and Brittany saying, “Are the dolphins getting together?” Mercedes smiled fondly.
“Be there soon,” she said and promptly signed off having to find the perfect outfit for David.
