Speak Now
The day the invitation for Kurt’s wedding came in the mail, it hit Blaine. Hard. He read the cursive print slowly with tears clouding up his eyes…
You are invited to the wedding of:
Mr. Adam Paul Scott to
Mr. Kurt Elisabeth Hummel
Blaine couldn’t read anymore. He slammed the invitation on the table in front of him, grabbed his coat, and ran. He ran for miles until he came upon an area that looked vaguely familiar. It was Pavarotti’s resting place. He fell to his knees and began to sob. “What am I going to do?” He whispered, “I can’t live without him. He is my soul mate. How can I feel so strongly about something if it’s wrong?!”
Just as Blaine finished crying, his phone began to ring. “Hello?” He spoke softly into the phone, trying to hide the fact he had been crying. “Blaine?” It was Kurt. “Kurt? Um Hi.” “Blaine, this is harder for me than it is for you so I’m just going to come out and say it. You can’t come to the wedding.” Blaine’s heart, that was already broken it two, had now shattered completely. “What? Kurt-I.” “Stop. Just stop. I want you to come more than anything, but Adam doesn’t want you here. I’m so sorry.” Kurt hung up.
In that moment Blaine knew he couldn’t sit around and lose Kurt forever he had to do something. He loved Kurt so much, and he knew Kurt loved him too. He knew it would be crazy, but he knew what he had to do.
Kurt sat in a chair outside of his wedding venue, a beautiful garden in Lima, and couldn’t contain the tears that came streaming down his cheeks. He knew he loved Blaine and he would give anything for him to be the one he was about to wed, but so many things had changed and now he was about to marry a man he didn’t love.
“Kurt!” He heard a voice bellow from across the garden. Kurt looked over to see it was his father, but he did not look happy. “Dad! Are you alright?” “No,” he replied quickly,” I don’t trust that Adam guy. I can’t trust him to take care of you, after I’m gone, like I trusted Blaine too.” “Dad I-“”No Kurt!” Burt stormed off to his car and drove away.
With that Kurt collapsed to the ground and began crying madly. “Oh God! What have I done?
The day of the wedding came and there Blaine was, hiding behind a bush in the back of the venue. The ceremony began, and Blaine resist the urge to scream when he saw Adam arrogantly walk down the aisle. “That should’ve been me.” He said softly. The bridesmaids, all the girls from the Glee club, waltzed down the aisle, wearing beautiful sky blue dresses and fake smiles. Next was Kurt, as he came into view Blaine was sure he felt his jaw drop. Kurt was wearing a navy blue tux and looked more incredible than ever. He timidly strolled down the aisle and Blaine sighed as he took Adam’s arm.
Before Blaine could even blink he heard the words he had been waiting for. “’Speak now or forever hold your peace.” Blaine took a deep breath and stood up from behind the bush. Disgusted gasps came from Adam’s side of the aisle, but Blaine looked over to Kurt’s side and saw nothing but smiles and relieved faces.
“Kurt, I know that I don’t deserve you because of the terrible mistakes I have made in the past, but you are my one and only true love. You are the reason I am able to keep living every day. You are my everything and honestly, without you I haven’t been living. I die every single day.
A tear fell down Blaine’s cheek and he looked up to see Kurt crying as well. “Kurt, there is a moment when you say to yourself, ‘oh there you are! I’ve been looking for you forever.’ Every single day I spend with you I relive that moment when I saw you do Blackbird in the Dalton Academy halls. You move me Kurt, I love you more than anything in this world, and I will forever hate myself for what I did to you.”
Blaine looked to Kurt with watery eyes and Adam stepped forward. “Do you honestly think he’d take you back now?” Adam smirked, “You are an imbecile. Well, you might as well leave.” “NO!” Kurt yelled out. “He isn’t going anywhere, Adam but you are. I have been lying to myself. I love Blaine and nothing is going to change that. He is my soul mate. I only wish it didn’t take me that long to realize it.” Adam stomped away and Kurt ran over and took Blaine’s hand.
Kurt brought Blaine to the middle of the aisle and got down on his knee. “Blaine Devon Anderson, I know this is really sudden, but we are here and all I know is that I love you and I don’t want to live another day without you, so will you do me the honor of marrying me?”
Blaine looked into Kurt’s beautiful sapphire eyes. “I have never been so sure of something in my entire life.” The entire Glee club burst into cheers and all of Adam’s family stood up and left. Burt flew up into the air. “THANK GOD!” He screamed at the top of his lungs. Once everyone had settled down the ceremony began again.
Blaine and Kurt strolled down the aisle together holding each other’s hand tightly, followed by the bridesmaids and groomsmen. When it came time to say the vows, they both knew exactly what they wanted to say.
Kurt went first:” Blaine, when I met you I was struggling with a very dark part of my life. I was constantly being bullied, but you saved me and you continue to save me every day of my crazy life. I love you more than I ever have before and we have both made mistakes, but in the end, that it was made us stronger. So I am not only going to use this moment to declare my love for you, but to thank you for being my friend. My best friend. I would die without you.”
They both wiped tears from their eyes and then it was Blaine’s turn: “Kurt, when I first met you, you took my breath away. Once you told me what you were going through, I knew I needed to help you and I wouldn’t stop until you were safe. I’ve loved you from the start and my love for you will never end. You give me courage, Kurt. And, like you once said, I am never ever saying goodbye to you.”
They both said their I do’s and, when it was time for them to kiss, they both melted into it. They loved each other so much and nothing would ever get between them. They were inseparable.
I’ve finally found you, my missing puzzle piece.
I’m complete.
Comments
This was really good. I am so glad that Blaine stopped Kurt from getting married and that Kurt was ready to marry Blaine on the spot. I would definitely continue reading this if you chose to write more.
