Prologue

He didn't know where he was running, but he was running fast. After one more fight with his dad, Blaine had ran out of his house, to the city, and then to the grove near the town. Angry tears were falling from his eyes, the branches were breaking on his feet and the green of the trees were blurred on his vision. He had reached his point. Blaine hated his dad's controler form, hated all of him. He wished he could just run away like he was doing at that moment and never come back, but he knew that wasn’t possible.

He stopped running when he encountered himself in a small waterfall. It was a beautiful place, greenish and with the scent of freshness and life. He could hear birds, warblers maybe, singing their soft tunes on the trees that surrounded the place, he felt at peace. He noticed a small figure, a boy, behind one of the rocks around the waterfall’s lake. He knew this boy, it was the kid that the neighborhood used to make fun because of his high-pitched voice and funny clothes. He himself never had seen anything wrong with the boy, but never dared to say it out loud, he would only stare in silence at the jokes being made of him.

The boy turned around suddently when he realized Blaine’s presence. "What are you doing here?" he asked in surprise "Are you going to make fun of me like the others? Did you follow me?" he demanded.

Astonished, Blaine didn't know what to answer. "N-No! I'm not here to make fun of you!" He said stuttering. "Why would I do that?"

"Because it's what the whole town usually does" The boy said with a grunt.

"Well, I'm not here for that" Blaine spoke. "I have no reason to do that to you"

"O...kay then. So why are you here?" The boy asked in confusion, tilting his head to the side and putting his hands on his hips in a adorable way.

"I don't know. I just... ran" Blaine mumbled.

"Away from the world, from your problems, from the things that you hate... I get you" The boy said with a sad smile "My name is Kurt" he extended his hand for Blaine to hold.

"Blaine" he took hold of the boy's -Kurt's- hand.

"I know who you are. You're son of Gabriel Anderson, the banker" Kurt said flatly

"Yeah, rather unfortunely." Blaine said heatedly, showing his anger in his voice

"Why's that?" Kurt asked "You two don't get along?"

"Yes. I just- I hate the way he is always trying to control my life! I mean, I'm almost thirteen, I'm a grown up!" Blaine said sitting near the lake.

"I'm sure you are." Kurt said sarcasticaly, sitting next to him on the fluffy grass"I mean, I can see beard growing on your chin"

"Do I detect mockery on your tone?" Blaine asked suspiciously

"Yes, you do" Kurt gave him a small laugh. "Don't worry, someday your father will understand you and you will understand him.

                "Yeah, maybe" Blaine mumbled

A silence established between them. Blaine wanted to say something, but didn't know what. He looked around, searching for some topic until he realized they were in the topic itself.

                "So, why are you here?"

"Like I said, people are not really nice to me, so this is my safe place to hide from the rest of the world" Kurt answered

"It's bad, you know? What they do to you, I mean. They shouldn't make fun of you just because you're different. You're kind of nice."

"Kind of?" Kurt asked in amusement

They both laughed "Thank you, anyway" Kurt said with a smile "You're kind of nice too."

Blaine smiled and he smiled back. That was the first time he really spoke to Kurt but he already liked him. He didn't know why, but he did. But like all the good things, it wouldn't last.

"I should probably go, my dad may be looking for me" Blaine stood up.

                "Oh. Okay." Kurt followed.

"Yeah" Blaine said and turned around to found his way home.

"You should come another day, if you like" Kurt offered

"What?" Blaine turned around with a questioning look on his face.

"I mean, you are the only one beside my dad that is not mean to me, so i figured we could, you know, be friends or something." Kurt shrugged not looking to Blaine.

Blaine was surprised by Kurt's request, but he liked the idea. Being Kurt's friend could be a good thing.

                "Sure" he finally said.

"Really?" Kurt asked, ocean blue eyes shining with hope.

"Yes, really, I would like to be your friend, Kurt." Blaine smiled "I have to go now, though. Bye."  Blaine waved and walked away, trying to figure out the way back to the town.

"Bye!" He heard Kurt saying excitedly behind him. Adorable.

Blaine found his way back to the small town and followed the streets until he reached his house. He could feel the tension around the building in his skin.

Maybe being friends with Kurt would be a nice change for his miserable life.

End Notes: Let me know if you liked it! I'm sorry if it's too bad :/
