I wanted to know everything, to know what happened to his brother and father. Why his mother is still with him. It must be such a burden tugging around all that pain and everything he has ever seen by himself.
He began to stir sitting upright to look at me, "isn't Rachel coming over?"
I was shocked to hear that that was the first thing he said and was on his mind. "Umm... yeah, I can call to check."
"Cool." He gave me a quick kiss and disappeared down the hall.
I called Rachel she answered right away, "hiya kurtsie."
"Hey rach, are you still coming over?" I asked.
"Yeah, I'd love too. I told Blaine I'd come over I didn't think he'd want to after last night." She explained.
"He actually requested it." I told her.
"Great, well give me twenty and I'll be right over."
"Wait Rachel, meet me at Lima Bean I've gotta ask you a favor."
"I'll be there." She hung up the phone.
"Blaine, I'm going to get Rachel," I called out to him. He yelled okay back as I left the apartment. Rachel and I arrived at the same time through different doors. She and I took a seat to talk before returning to Blaine.
"What did you want to tell me?" She asked.
"It's Blaine, he is upset about something and just won't tell me. He is five words from a mental breakdown."
"Do you want me to put a wall up for him?" She questioned.
"I don't know. I want to know what's wrong with him but I want him to tell me. I don't want to steal the thoughts." I said conflicted on what is best.
"We can ask," I gave her a disturbed look so she elaborated. "We tell him and show what I can do and see if he wants to share."
"That actually might work." I said, "lets find out." I rose out of my chair and led Rachel to my apartments. Blaine was playing his guitar when we walked in.
"Hey Rachel," he smiled wide setting his guitar aside to give her a hug.
"Hey Blaine." She said warmly. "What are you working on?"
"I like to have acoustic versions of the songs the warblers preform, I just started. It's to Katy Perry's Teenage Dream." He explained.
"I love Katy!"
"Me too." He exclaimed. Blaine turned to me with a smile.
"Blaine, we have something really cool to show you." I said the three of us heading to the couch. Rachel sat in the middle of us with a soft smile she began to explain her ability.
"So something happens we are change, I don't know exactly what it is but Kurt just refers to it as an ability. But basically, I can share and trade thought with the touch of my finger tip." She paused to see if he had a question.
"Lets show him," I suggest. "Blaine what memory of mine would you like to see?"
"How about you and Rachel first meeting." He suggested after a moment.
Rachel laughed. "Alright then take my hand." She held it out and Blaine place his hand and their eyes fluttered shut.
In 1931 Rachel was dumped on her ass after her maker, Hugo, a good friend of mine, met a new girl. He released her once she started wining because he was busy. They never rekindled instead she followed me around, I was the only vampire she knew. I'm glad she did, we had good times til the second world war when she returned to America, Sebastian's known home, and I fled to south America. But all the time apart she kept in contact with me. Then about 1974 til the early ninty's she lived in Europe with me traveling at random. She became a Broadway performer in 1998 the technical last time I was in America.
Blaine opened his eyes and turned to me, "you're mean."
"Well not anymore, she shouldn't have been following me." I said in a playful voice. He smiled at me before turning back to Rachel.
"That is really cool Rachel."
"I know." She smiled her charmed smile then looked to me raising an eyebrow.
"Blaine," I took a breath, "I know you don't like to talk about your family." the color slowly began to fade from his cheeks, "but I thought you could show me through Rachel."
"I don't know..." he said shifting his body.
"I can also make you forget," Rachel said, "just erase them from your memory."
He shook his head no, "Ignorance is bliss but, the less you both know the better, and I need to know because I don't want to make the same mistakes." He explained.
My face matched Rachel a mix of horror and sadness after his speech. He twisted his hands together before taking Rachel's hand and closing his eyes. Rachel quickly grabbed mine and I saw into Blaine’s memories.
