"Rachel?" He called.
"In the room," she called back. Kurt smiled wide as he walked into his room and saw his best friend sitting on his computer.
"How was the honeymoon?" Kurt asked as he crossed the room and wrapped his new sister in-law in a tight hug.
"You know Finn, it was magical, but it was Finn so it wasn't perfect." She joked. “How’s Dates and Cakes? I came by as soon as we landed but Tina said you were gone."
"It's a long, Long, Story." Kurt said.
"It's a good thing I have coffee brewing. Talk to me." Rachel turned her chair and Kurt sate at the end of his bed.
"Ok, Tuesday morning I met this guy Blaine Anderson, overall handsome and well the guy looks like he has money. So he is walking around the shop and he's bleeding. I'm freaking out and he is cool as a cucumber, but I go to ask him his name and he says Blaine I think. That's what this card says." Kurt leans back to get the card Blaine gave to him a week ago. Rachel accepts it as Kurt finishes his story.
"Now I'm really freaking out because he is just so confused well he passed out and I sent him to the hospital. They are doing all they can but I don’t know. Now there is this tie that binds me to him. I go see him everyday hoping he remembers something but he never does. And he is married its weird right."
"Wow, you had a lot more fun than I did. Where is Blaine now?" Rachel gave Kurt back the card.
"He is still at the hospital, they discharge him on Monday, but there is no one to take care of him, so he has to stay there." Kurt explained. “Head injury patience can’t drive for the first 6 weeks after their accident.”
"Poor guy." Rachel watched Kurt run his fingers all over the card. "What does he look like?" Kurt shot her a strange look but she put her hands up and defended her comment, “just out of curiosity."
Kurt gave a light warm chuckle. "When I met him he wore a suit, had his hair slicked back his eyes screamed business only relations. They were empty. He had a silver wedding band, had five o’clock shadow so I'm assuming he had a clean shave. But the guy I saw a hour ago was complete different, thick curly hair, stubble; he kept squinting at everything so a nurse gave him these old man glasses that just made his eye pop. Oh, Rachel his eyes are like liquid gold with emerald and ruby gems sprinkled inside to create this hazel color. When he looks at you, he sees all the mistakes you have ever made but doesn't even care.
"Wow Kurt, he seems ineresting." Rachel said. "Why don't you take care of him? I mean the spare room is empty and you kept telling me you were going to fill it." Rachel joked looking at her old room.
"I never put the ad out, a part of me hoped you would break up with Finn and come back to me. You're way too good for my brother." Kurt informed her.
"Yes, I know this. But you know if I were a man you and I would be married and adopting kids left and right." Rachel smiled. Kurt laughed and pulled her in for a tight hug. "I love you Kurt.
"I love you more Raymond." Kurt said sincerely as Rachel busted into laughter and pushed him off her.
Kurt and Blaine were eating dinner and Kurt brought some cake from his bakery for dessert. The conversations between them were mostly one sided, Blaine would ask Kurt questions and Kurt would go into detail to give Blaine a new memory. Blaine loved hearing about his work and friends.
On their walk back to Blains room, Kurt thought about what Rachel told him the other day. "Blaine, would... well I know you don't me well enough to make this decision so if you say no I understand.”
Kurt was cut off by Blaine’s laughter. "Kurt, right now you and Dr. Neutin are the only people I know.”
“Oh, right. Would you like to live with me? My old roommate moved out last year and I have a spare room, its right in town, a much better view then your hospital walls, full kitchen 2 bathrooms, I am the only person living in the complex right now so no annoying neighbors." Kurt began to ramble.
“Moving in would be lovely." Blaine smiled and gave Kurt a hug. “Good night, see you tomorrow.”
“Good night,” Kurt said.
The following day Blaine moved out of the hospital an into Kurt's condo a quarter of a block from the bakery. Kurt lent Blaine some clothes and promised they'd go shopping soon. After a hot shower, Blaine came to the kitchen for dinner.
"It smells amazing in here," Blaine said looking at the Alfredo simmering over the stove.
Kurt only smiled as he got plates, "do you like... never mind, white wine?"
"I like white wine yes," Blaine smiled, "I remembered a name Kella, I have no idea who she is though." Blaine accepted the wine glasses and took them to the small dining table.
"She could be a friend, or a sister," Kurt said.
"I don't have any sister," Blaine thought for a moment, then shook his head.
"Don’t stress to hard on it." Kurt brought the two plates over to the table. Blaine ate his food slowly and didn’t look up from it. Kurt wondered what was wrong but Blaine sat back and laughed.
"You know what I want to watch," Blaine said suddenly. "Charlie’s Angels. ‘ Never send a man to do a woman's job.’ Is that on video yet?"
"What?" Kurt raised his eyebrow. Blaine stared at Kurt then blinked and put his hands over his eyes and stretched his back.
"I better get to bed school in the morning," Blaine stood up then looked around. Suddenly everything was different. "Where am I?"
"Blaine, what's going on?" Kurt stood reaching out for Blaine.
"Who are you?" Blaine stuttered and started to panic, "Mom!"
"Calm down, I'm Kurt, your...roommate." Kurt said shocked.
"What are you talking about? I'm 16, why would I have a roommate."
"No Blaine you're 25 you just got out of the hospital." Kurt began to panic, as Blaine span around looking at everything in the kitchen. He took slow steps backwards.
"No. Why? If I'm twenty five then ... I'm 25." Blaine backed into a wall.
"Blaine just calm down, you hit your head 2 weeks ago." Kurt said thinking quick. She shouldn’t have got him out so early. It wasn’t even 6 hours and he is already having a breakdown.
"No. I want my mom. Leave me alone." Blaine slid down the wall and started to cry. He ran his hands through hair and stopped at stitches. "I just want my mom," Blaine sobbed.
Kurt didn't know what to do or if he should call the hospital. There sat an adult man sobbing in his loft.
"Come on, let’s go to the hospital, It will make you feel better." Kurt kneeled beside Blaine. Blaine looked up at Kurt their eyes met and Kurt could see how scared Blaine was. But more, looking into Blaine’s eyes he saw a light in them, like he loved everything and everyone. His golden eyes blinked twice before taking Kurt's soft hand. “I'm going to call Rachel put your shoes and jacket on, okay.” Kurt said panicking as he ran to his room and dialed her number
"Rachel, I know its 10, I need you to meet me at Lima hospital." Kurt said in a panicked voice. "It's Blaine, he remembers. I’ll till you more when you get there. Thank you." Kurt hung up his phone and turned to Blaine who was sitting on the couch with his hands covering his face.
"Blaine honey," Kurt said in a warning voice. "Let's go," Kurt held out his hand to Blaine.
