Tryon Edwards once said, "Every parting is a form of death, as every reunion is a type of heaven." I wonder how long I had to tread the waters of purgatory before I was saved. Leaving Kurt felt like death.
Running away crying, everything that happen was a horrible realization that without him I was nothing.
My first night alone I had just got off the bus in fort Wayne Indiana, I was disgusted with myself. I still had blood on my fingernails and I smelt like her. I hid all night in a gas station bathroom trying to figure out what next. Just as the cold gray light of dawn approached, someone knocked on the door. I looked into the mirror and saw the monster. My eyes were black and red, my fangs were the main focus on my mouth and I felt light headed.
"Occupied!" I croaked quickly turning the water on to rinse off my face. I started hallucinating, the man in the mirror starred talking to me. Telling me what I really wanted to do. Open the door, eat that man, fill yourself with his blood. Be the monster. Be the monster. Be the monster.
I killed him and the six people in the gas station that morning then set the place on fire. I let the monster run rabid and I killed over 30 people in my first month. But that wasn't who I was. I needed to be controlled, I needed Kurt's loving judgment to bring me back but when I ran back to Ohio he packed up and left. That's when I knew he moved on.
I needed to be something, I became something with out him.
So to see him in front I me now I didn't know what to do or say. I didn't know how to love him after I hated him for not being home when I went back.
"How did you find me?" I asked standing a far distance from him.
"I've been looking for you for months. Blaine?" Kurt said looking at me like he was so over come with emotion he would either cry or yell if I don't do something.
"You shouldn't have wasted your time," I said turning and walking out side. He followed me I knew he would but I didn't know what he would say.
"Blaine don't you dare walk away from me again. I have looked high and low, I've gone from sea to sea searching for you. I should have made you Rachel was wrong to throw you out. None of this was your fault. You don't know how much you mean to me and if you walk away it was all for nothing. Saving you, killing Sebastian, putting up with humans and werewolves, and Chandler, it was all for nothing if you walk away from me right now. You are my soul mate Blaine, my other half. I love you so much and I will die if you go."
"I have died Kurt. I've died and been reborn a monster. You can't fix me, no one can I'm broken, damaged good. You can't have me because I am not the sweet innocent Blaine Anderson you fell in love with. I'm sorry." I turned my back to him to hide the tears.
"Blaine, please don't be like this." I felt his hand on my shoulder, "you know you're pushing me away. Just don't."
I put my hand over his and relaxed, "you wont leave? Or banish me?" I asked.
"Never, Blaine please, this time is ours, no one else's." He said.
I turned and kissed him holding on to him hoping all the feelings will come rushing back at once, but they didn't, my heart just ached.
I pulled away from him, "I need time. I'm not ready, I need to know you wont leave."
"That's fine with me. Take as much time as you need. I'm not going anywhere. I'm just so happy to have you back." He held me close for a long moment, I breathed his scent in, memorizing it, praying I'll never spend a night without it.
"Come inside meet everyone." I said, I took his hand and lead him inside my home. Marley and Alexia were gossiping on the couch, I cleared my throat, "ladies, this is Kurt. Kurt this is Marley and you already met Alexia."
"Its nice to meet you Kurt." Marley smiled her prize winning grin.
"You're a great hunter, I've been wearing Blaine's jacket all week I was sure his scent was gone." Alexia said.
"I'm very old, I can track the weakest of scents." Kurt said.
Ryder came in he room with hunter, "how old?" Hunter asked.
Kurt turned and looked at them, "450."
"Holy shit," Marley said quickly covering her mouth.
"And your maker?" Hunter asked. I had never seen him interested in anything before.
"She is dead but she was 60 years older then me." Kurt said.
"I'm sorry to hear that." Ryder said.
"Its fine I was 8 when she was taken from me." Kurt said. I looked over at him watching the way he seemed at ease with me by his side.
"Well you fit right in with us. All of our makers left us or died, we've been watching out for each other for a decade now. Joe and Blaine are the newest." Alexia said.
"I should have been Blaine's makers, I just wasn't there when it happened. He was mine as a human and he is mine now." He looked down at me and smiled. I tried to smiled back but I'm sure it looked more like a grimace.
"Lets celebrate! The sun doesn't come up for another 2 hours I'm sure there is someone out there we can sink our fangs into." Hunter said.
"I'm sorry, I can't." I said quickly, "but you can go Kurt, I'm sure you're hungry."
"Are you sure?" Kurt asked me, "you look like you haven't eaten in days." He touched the dark circles under my eyes.
"He doesn't feed on humans." Hunter said, "I've never even seen him drink from a blood bag."
"Animals Blaine?" Kurt sighed, "you know they don't fill us up the same."
"I know but its all I've eaten in 4 months, I'm not going to break my diet now." I said defensively.
"Then lets go for drinks." Marley said, "the vampire bar on 3rd is perfect and we can go to the back and feed."
"Vampire bar?" Kurt asked.
"Its Chicago Kurt, big city, lots of vampires, they need to go somewhere to let loose where humans can't see. There are tons of them." Ryder said.
"I have heard of feeding banks in Europe I didn't think they have made there way to American yet." Kurt said, he looked over at me, "are we celebrating?"
"Sure, but, stay close." I said.
"Lets go, race you there." Alexia said jumping over the couch running out the door. She was quickly followed by hunter and Ryder.
"You know how to get there Kurt?" Marley asked.
"It shouldn't be too hard." He said. She nodded her head and left.
"They don't know much about you do they?" Kurt asked.
"Not a damn thing. Not my sun ring, nor my tragic human past, and especially not the ripping." I said.
"Then I will keep it a secret. Lead the way." He said taking my hand as we ran to the bar.
