He pulled away and looked at me like he was looking for something hidden between my eyelashes. "What is it, Blaine?" I asked.
"How old are you?" He asked me.
"21," I said while thinking 449.
"So can I ask you a personal question?"
"Go ahead, I'll answer as honest as I can."
"When did you know? That you were gay I mean." He shifted his eyes down blood rushing to his cheeks.
"I don't even remember, I just did or always have I don't think it just happened out of the blue. But I lived in a very small town, where my sexual preference was about as important as what kind of meat they put in SPAM. Nothing I say even maters." I told him.
"My mom wants me to just turn my feeling off, pretend to be straight with a girl I've known since middle school." He said growing aggravated at the thought. "But I've never had feeling for anyone. I'm 17 for Christ sake and I've barely kiss anyone, I've never had a boyfriend and its just to damn confusing."
"Blaine," I said calmly. "There is nothing wrong with being 17 and not kissing people. You're still young you have plenty of life ahead of you. Screw what your mom says, you know when you know. I have friend who didn't realize they preferred other men till they were married with kids." I assured him. He didn't look convinced; in fact he looked even more confused. "Are you hungry?" I asked pulling him out his trance.
"No, I don't eat much." He said looking at his feet.
"I can tell." I accidentally let slip he looked at me and laughed.
That smile, it turned things on that after 400 years I thought I would never feel again.
"I am however, tired." Blaine said. I raised an eyebrow the kid didn't do a thing today how is he tired?
"You don't want to go out? Enjoy the town." I asked him.
"No, if my mother or father found me that would be the end this," he seemed scared as he looked around the room.
I lifted my hand to his bruised eye, "has he hit you before?" I asked.
"Yes, sometime he leaves me alone and goes to mom. But I rather him hit me then hear her scream." Blaine said. He put his hand over mine holding it to his face. "Your hand feels so good." He said melting into it. “Are you always this cold?”
I only nodded, I couldn’t find my voice, and it was like his hold held every part of me. My tongue was tied and my brain was foggy. I want him. I pull my hand away and stood suddenly. I can’t have him.
“I’m going to run to the store to get your room set up.” I rushed out.
“Okay, I don’t need a bed or anything, the couch is just fine.” He said. “Did I do something?”
“What? No, Blaine, you haven’t done a thing.” I assured him.
“Oh okay, it just seems like you run away after I say or do something.” He said in a soft voice.
I looked at him shaking my head again, “Blaine, I just want to make sure you have everything you need, sorry if I'm a bit weird about it, I…” I took a pause. I can’t believe I'm about to say this, “I just get nervous around you.”
His eyes brightened as a shy smile spread across his cheeks. “You wanna go to Lima Bean and get some coffee?”
No, stop right now, this won’t end well Kurt, you can’t fall in love with this guy. You know better then this, you fall and he will die. Just tell him your busy, tell him you cant that you hate that coffee shop, no. No. No. “Sure, let's walk.”
