Blaine returned to school Monday ready then ever to perfect his lifts with Abby. But to his surprise Ms July told him he was needed in the auditorium. When he arrived he saw Sam and Tina talking together along with the unholy Trinity behind them. Kurt and Rachel sat looking around confused as to why they were here with a bunch of misfits. Those misfits being Ryder, Marley, and Wade. Blaine walked down and sat by himself not sure if he was more like Sam and Tina or like Kurt and Rachel. Finn walked in last sitting down at the end seat also looking around.
Ms. Tibideaux crossed the stage with William at her flank. “Thank you all for joining me this morning.” She started. There were two chairs at the stage where she and will sat. “Its come to my attention that we as a school haven’t been working as hard as we should to help students grow. I brought you all together as a tester for how next year shall go.”
Will spoke up next, “starting this week you will get out of your second period class 45 minutes early to come here or to the choir room if this is booked. This will be for the remaining first semester and depending on how well it is we will add more students during the second semester. “
“Excuse me, just what is this?” Rachel asked as students nodded in agreement.
“Well, we have our best students here, and students with the most potential. William and I have decided to group you all together in hopes of teaching by peers instead of teachers.” Tibideaux said.
“What we want first is the newer students and those with lower SPS to sing first.” Will said, “your theme is raw talent. We want you to sing and perform as the star you think you are.”
“Could you give us an example?” Marley asked.
“Rachel,” Tibideaux started, “is known from here to new york for her beautiful Broadway bound voice, but many people don’t know she loves to sing pop, and dance jazz.” Rachel smiled. “Or Santana will never be caught dead singing a love ballad.”
“That’s a lie.” Brittany said softly but in a matter of fact tone.
“We just want you to show your true colors, and even if that is exactly what we already know show us why.” Will said. “Now I know I gave this assignment to Marley, Ryder and Wade in my intermediate class. Are either of you ready?”
Rachel looked at Kurt entirely confused and Santana crossed her arms thinking she was about to waste a lot of her cheer-leading practice on bullshit.
“I’m ready Mr shue.” Wade stood up in full drag looking beautiful. Kurt has always loved a student that is always prepared but he really didn’t think he needed to watch a 4 perform.
“That’s great unique! The stage is all yours,” will and Tibideaux left the stage and sat at the directors table as wade put music on. Blaine sat back and was eager to see someone other then Kurt Rachel and Santana perform.
All jaws dropped as Wade gave a 10 scale performance of Boogie Shoes(Watch), Rachel stood and clapped for him though she was the only one.
From the back Will spoke, “do any of the student have anything prepared?”
“I do.” Sam said standing up. “Officially I was practicing this for glee but I can do it here.” He walked up to the stage, “is it okay if Finn helps me out?”
“That’s fine.” Will said. Finn joined Sam on stage, they spoke for a second then he smiled when he knew what was going on. Sam was a country boy, Blaine knew this but watching him sing Red Solo Cup (Watch)made him laugh harder then he thought possible. The Cheerios ran to the stage and danced around the boys singing back up.
Kurt muttered to Rachel, “what the hell am I witnessing?”
“This is what unity looks like Kurt. Get use to it.” Rachel said not disappointed in Sam but not entertained either. “Excellent Sam, anyone else?” Will asked. Blaine looked up at the teachers and saw Tibideaux was extremely unimpressed, but tolerating it just like Kurt.
“I do, I mean I haven’t found myself just yet, I’m just a sophomore but I do love it when Rachel sings ballads and I want to do that.” Ryder said walking up the stage. He told the pianist what song he was singing and when Brad started as did Ryder.
Blaine had never heard Your Song(Watch) stripped down like that. he loved lady gaga and Elton john. Ryder was a great singer, but that song wasn't right for him. Blaine wonder how he would sound singing john Mayer or Matt Nathenson.
“He’s got some great potential.” Rachel told Kurt who just shrugged and sunk down into his seat.
“Great job, we have time for one more, Tina? Marley?”
“I have something.” Marley said. She was like a little mouse, everyone wanted her to be big bold but as a sophomore she wasn’t there yet. She needed guidance and as she sat on stage while brad played the piano Rachel felt her heart prick. She wanted to help Marley, Everytime(Watch) by Brittney spears was soft and sweet just like Marley.
Blaine really like it, he knew she needed to project more but she was a great Singer.
“Excellent, Tina you’re first thing tomorrow.” Will said.
“Juniors and seniors,” Carmen started, “you will go in the following order, Finn, Quinn, Blaine, Brittany, Santana, Kurt then Rachel. You may bring props but please impressed me.” She said before walking away.
“You all can return to class.” Will said rising to leave as well.
