Author's Notes: More soon
Blaine and his mother arrived at the school the same time Rachel and her fathers did. Blaine was absolutely stunned by the gown she had on. Floor length strapless silver and white dress. Her hair was curled beautifully around her face and her makeup was flawless. She smiled and winked at Blaine as her dads spoke over her. Blaine felt very under dressed, he wore a black suit the blazer was high quality with silk pluming. He had a charcoal gray button up underneath with a black skinny tie. Beverly was wearing a plum dress with her hair pinned back. Michael was too busy to come and Cooper was running around the building somewhere. Blaine and Beverly sat towards the back. He saw some of the other students sitting, including Kurt who was all alone. “Excuse me for one second mom, I want to say hi to someone.” Blaine stood and walked over to Kurt placing one hand in his pocket. “Hey Kurt. You look smashing.”
“As do you Blaine. I swear I just saw Cooper like two seconds ago and he’s wearing grey too.” Kurt said with a smile.
“Its a family thing. My mother has smoke gray shoes on.” Blaine laughed. “Are you alone?” He asked seeing three empty chairs beside him.
“Kinda, my dad is state Congressmen, and I perform about six times a month on average in a public setting. so I tell him which ones I want him to go to and he will see me next month at sectionals.” Kurt explained, “and Rachel and her dads are going to be with me.”
“Oh, I see.” Blaine said.
“Are you nervous?” Kurt quickly asked.
“A little. I’m right after Santana.”
“You’ll be fine, you've got star quality.” Kurt said just as Rachel found Kurt. She gave Blaine a warm hug.
“Break a leg.” She said as Kurt stood to let her fathers into their chairs.
“You too.” Blaine said heading back to his mom and now Cooper was sitting down as well.
“We are about to start.” Cooper said letting Blaine sit on the outside.
Carmen Tibideaux took the stage and introduced the evenings events. She called Santana to the floor who was here with her parents. She wore a lilac wrap dress that came around her neck under her arms and was backless. She sung Girl On Fire(LINK)
. Blaine’s mother took his hand and sighed. As soon as Santana was done Beverly whispered “she’s amazing Blaine.”
“Now its my turn to be amazing mom.” Blaine said his stomach doing back flips as Carmen introduced him as the newest member of the PAPA 101 college prep. He was this years student to watch.
Blaine walked on stage and sat gracefully at the piano and began to sing Against All Odds(LINK). While singing he looked at Kurt, boy did Blaine like Kurt but he wasn’t sure if it was worth the heartbreak.
As Kurt watched him sing all he could see was the raw emotion and talent that kid had. Blaine was nothing like a papa student, he seemed like Dalton royalty but was in fact from public school.
Blaine finished and received a standing ovation, he bowed and accepted the applause. He returned to his seat and Cooper hugged him tears in his eyes. “So proud of you.”
Blaine sat down and saw Kurt looking back at him. Carmen took a moment to thank Blaine and to start the intermission. Cooper and Blaine stood up and walked to get refreshments.
“You are a very talented young man. I don’t recognize you, is this your first year?” An older man asked. Cooper walked over to one of the teachers as Blaine thanked the man.
“Yes sir,” Blaine replied. “But I’m a senior. Blaine Anderson.”
“Nice to meet you son I’m James Hale head of admission at Michigan state.” James said.
“Its a pleasure to meet you.” Blaine shook his hand.
“Where do you plan on going to college Blaine?” James asked.
“I haven’t quite decided yet sir, my father wants me to attend a school for business and finances, but I’d prefer a performing arts school.” Blaine said.
“You are just the kind of talent we could use in the theater program. Here this is my card, send me an email of the next time you perform and I’ll be sure to bring my performing arts scout with me.” James said.
Blaine accepted the card, “thank you so much Mr Hale, I’ll be sure to do that.”
James walked away and Blaine headed back to his seat. Rachel walked back by his side. “That’s going to be happening for the rest of high school. I’ve already picked NYADA 2 years ago and I’m still asked.” She said.
“Its a good thing I haven’t then. My dad wont pay if I’m not majoring in business, maybe he wont have to in this keeps happening.” Blaine said.
“Well in that case, there is the scout for nyada there, and NYU there. Colombia and Yale use to come but they like to come during the spring for the juniors because they haven’t picked schools yet.” Rachel said pointing out people.
“This is exciting.” Blaine said, “you look lovely by the way.”
“You’ve said that twice now. I guess I’m forced to believe you.” Rachel said with a smile returning to her seat. Blaine sat down and told his mom what happened.
“See, you’re going to do very well here. And I video taped you singing so your father can see it as well.” Beverly said. Cooper returned to his seat and handed his mother a bottle of water.
“Who’s next?” Cooper asked.
“Kurt.” Blaine replied, “he’s my favorite of the 10’s his voice is angelic and he is a great actor.”
Cooper gave Blaine a face, “tell me more tell me more but you don’t have to brag.”
“Shut up.” Blaine elbowed Cooper as the lights began to dim.
Blaine sat in complete adoration as Kurt sung Being AliveLINK
. He and Kurt wanted the same thing out of a relationship, Blaine wanted to adore someone and Kurt wanted to be adored. Blaine was first to stand as he applauded for Kurt.
“He’s dreamy alright.” Cooper said to Blaine as they sat back down.
Blaine didn’t even care about coopers comments all he wanted to do was talk to Kurt. See what about that song made Kurt sing it like that.
Blaine zoned out thinking about Kurt when he heard applause he snapped out of it and watched Rachel take the stage. “Applause before she even takes the stage, is she that good?” Beverly asked.
“Yes!” Cooper and Blaine said at the same time. Beverly opened her video back up on the phone and started recording as Rachel opened her mouth and closed the night’s events singing Being Good Isn't Good Enough(LINK
).
Beverly was crying by the end note, Cooper and Blaine both laughed and teased her the whole ride home.
To Blaine surprise, both Rachel and Kurt sent him friend request on facepage.
