Kurt noticed Blaine’s eyes were slightly glossed over, and red with the wearing effects of drugs. “Are you high right now?” Kurt questioned snatching the bag from Blaine. Blaine's wiped his hand over his nose and answered Kurt's question.
“Yes, but it was this morning, Jim and I did a few lines. I’m fine now.” Blaine said his eyes growing wide at Kurt’s impending anger. “I’m recording Friday.” Blaine said suddenly. “Wanna hear your song?”
Kurt shook his head and walked away from Blaine. “Kurt,” Blaine wined, but Kurt couldn’t think of a word that would express his anger towards Blaine right now. But he knew silence spoke louder than any words could.
Kurt stood in the kitchen and stretched his hands around the sink hanging his head in shame. “I’m leaving you.” Kurt announced. Blaine didn’t say anything at first. He stared at Kurt, his head only making the connection to Kurt's words late.
“Please don’t.” Blaine managed to articulate. Kurt took a bottle of Jack from the box of liquor on the counter and threw it across the kitchen slamming into the wall leaving the lingering smell whiskey as he yelled at Blaine.
“I am too tired Blaine. You are stressing me out. I don’t want to live like this anymore.” Kurt bawled. Blaine's face scrunched up in pain then he mimicked Kurt’s anger.
“Then I’ll stop!” He walked to Kurt, the alcohol sitting on the counter was the only thing between them. “I won’t drink anymore.” He took bottles one by one and threw them to the same wall the whiskey was stained on causing Kurt to jump. “You can’t leave me. I have nothing to live for if you do.” Blaine cried taking the whole box slamming to the floor.
“Get away from me Blaine,” Kurt said pushing Blaine out of his way. Blaine grabbed his hand and pulled him back. “Blaine! Let. Me. GO!”
“No!” Blaine shouted. “I won’t let you go.”
“You’re making it worse,” Kurt’s face scrunched up in pain as Blaine tightened his hold on Kurt. Kurt looked at Blaine’s rage and it wasn’t the same as his. It was drug induced, and Blaine had no control over his oncoming actions. “Let me go.” Kurt pleated.
“No,” Blaine pulled Kurt closer to him and took his other wrist and held them together. “You are mine. Forever. We promised.” He said through a clenched jaw and staring into Kurt’s eyes.
“Forever is over Blaine. Let me go.” Kurt said in a flat voice trying to be rid of Blaine’s grip.
“Fine.” Blaine said. He let of go Kurt and started to cry. "I screw everything up." Blaine crumpled to the floor as Kurt stepped out of his grabbing distance but felt as if he were struck by lightning as Blaine sobbed. Kurt walked away feeling his own eyes leak in sadness. Kurt heard Blaine repeating "Don’t go," between sobs but refused to be hurt anymore by him.
In the room Kurt took a small bag out of his closet and filled it with a few cloths to stay at Rachel and Quinn’s house until he figured out what to do with Blaine. His heart stopped when he couldn’t hear Blaine’s sobs anymore.
“Blaine?” Kurt walked out of the room into the kitchen and saw a crimson pool flowing towards the refrigerator, he took a few more steps and saw Blaine's eyes flutter closed and the bloody piece of glass in his hand. “Blaine!” Kurt ran to Blaine and knelt down in the blood and liquor.
Blaine’s left wrist had a large slash in it from the glass piece and his right hand was cut from holding it. Kurt grabbed a dish towel and wrapped it around Blaine’s bleeding wrist. Kurt shook Blaine awake but Blaine kept closing his eye and pushing Kurt away from him.
“Blaine! Don’t do this to me.” Kurt sobbed digging around Blaine’s pockets for a phone. He quickly dialed 911.
“911, what’s your emergency?”
“My boyfriend just tried to kill himself. There is so much blood and he won’t wake up.” Kurt sobbed into the phone getting a wet rag from the sink and whipping Blaine’s face.
“I’m sending an ambulance right now. What is your name sir?”
“Kurt Hummel.” He said. “Please hurry, he's on drugs.” Kurt said between sobs.
“Kurt, I need you to take a deep breath and tell me what he is on.”
“I don’t know. I think cocaine but he just came home and we started fighting and he just slit his wrist. Oh my god. This is all my fault baby please don’t leave me.” Kurt said hysterical. In the background he could hear the faint sounds of the ambulance on their way to his condo.
“Kurt I need you to check his pulse, can you do that for me,” the operator soften her tone a great deal compared to the monotone all operator are required to answer their phones with.
“He is breathing though.“ Kurt said watching Blaine chest rise and fall slowly. With bloody trembling fingers he pressed against Blaine’s neck and felt a soft pulse. “Do you want me to count or something because it’s really slow?”
The front door opened as two EMT came in and heard Kurt’s uncontrollable sobs, “The ambulance is here.” Kurt said scooting away from Blaine as the female took over while the male EMT brought a stretcher into the house.
Kurt dropped the phone and tried to decipher what the EMTs were saying. “He snorts cocaine,” Kurt barely murmured. This was all because he snorted cocaine today. Kurt started to shake as black spots blurred his vision.
“Sir,” the male EMT was the last thing Kurt saw before waking up in a hospital bed.
