Carol shook her head no and Burt huffed his expression screamed disappointment. "How’s he doing?" Carol asked taking a seat next to Kurt’s bed.
"The doctors took him off the medicine around 6; they said he could wake up whenever he was ready." Rachel explained. She really wanted to know what was going on with Blaine so she text her wife.
"Can you check on Blaine?"
"Sure, is everything alright?"
"With Blaine, I don't think so... Kurt is fine thought."
"Alright I'll head over right now ily"
"Love you too."
Quinn pulled up to the condo and climbed out her car. She walked up the stairs and pulled the spare key from on top of the porch and walked into the house. The living room was clean two coffee mugs sat on the counter; Quinn walked towards bedroom and heard Blaine singing very softly.
"What happened to bullet proof weeks in your arms? What happened to feeling cheep radio song? What happened to thinking the world was flat. What happened...yeah what happened to that?"
Quinn saw Blaine weeping on the floor as he hugged himself and sung again. She smelt the vomit in the stale room and other gruesome body odor.
"Blaine?" She said covering her nose. He didn't look up at her but he stopped singing.
"Blaine what's going on hon?" She said, he didn't do anything not move or speak he didn't even sing.
Quinn walked around him and opened the blinds and a window sending fresh ice cold air through the room. She leaned by the window and saw the mirror with cocaine residue and understood what was wrong with Blaine. She got her phone out and texted Rachel.
"Its really bad over here...he is high."
"Shit... well Kurt just woke up."
Quinn gasped, "Blaine Kurt’s awake," she exclaimed. But it still didn’t catch his attention. She walked over to him and put cold hands on his checked making his eyes snap up to hers, "Blaine Elijah Anderson, Kurt is awake, it time that you get your shit together and be there for him."
"I'm sorry..." he murmured. She wrapped him in a hug that he returned squeezing her and crying.
"Its okay, let’s get you cleaned up."
Rachel held Kurt’s hand as the nurses did test to check his brain functions.
He could hardly speak but his first words were "where’s Blaine?"
No one answered his question, the nurse came in and the three stayed silent until she left. Kurt had asked again, "where's Blaine?" Rachel got a text from Quinn and sighed then looked at Burt and carol.
"Honey, Blaine isn't coming." Rachel said holding back tears.
Kurt looked confused and looked at his parents. "Why?" He asked after a minute of silence.
"Kurt, don't stress yourself over him, he isn't good for you." Burt said Carol scoffed. "I'm going to be frank with your kid, he is getting high and you are being held back by him. You can get so far if you cut him off."
"What?" Kurt said not understanding what Burt was talking about.
"I think its time you left him," Burt said softening his tone.
"I can't think straight right now dad. You want me to leave Blaine?" Kurt asked, "Why would I do that?"
"Burt, let’s not do this now." Carol said.
"Fine," Burt said, he walked out of the room leaving Kurt with Carol and Rachel.
Kurt stared at his hand wrapped with Rachel’s. "I just paid off that car." He said. "That deer came out of nowhere."
"Don't worry about it Kurt, I have it all under control. You just need to work on getting better." Rachel said.
Her phone vibrated with a text from Quinn. "I'm bringing Blaine in about an hour."
She smiled and told Kurt, "Quinn talked to Blaine they will be her soon." She smiled.
Kurt smiled and murmured, "good."
As he began to drift off. "Carol, tell me what's going on with them," Rachel said after she was sure Kurt was asleep.
"Rachel if Quinn was hurting you, you would leave her right." Carol asked.
"I don't know maybe if I didn't think she could change." Rachel said.
"Do you think Blaine could change?" She asked.
"Carol, I'm not Kurt. I would have left Blaine a long time ago. What they have is unlike any type of love I have ever seen before." Rachel explained.
"I think Kurt needs to live, he is 32 and has nothing to show for it." Carol said.
"He has a great career carol," Rachel stated.
"Well, that's not much," Carol said hotly.
"You mean that's not a kid?" Rachel asked raising an eyebrow.
"How could you say something like that?" Carol hissed.
"Finn and I still talk, he told me how much you want to be a grandma, how that's how all of your conversations end." Rachel said.
"This isn't about me Rachel." Carol said.
"Right, so Kurt wants to stay with Blaine. No matter what Blaine does or how many times we tell him to leave. It’s not up to us to dictate his choices." Rachel said.
Carol shook her head aggravated beyond belief, "I'm going to find Burt."
Rachel gave her a sarcastic nod, "you do that." Rachel started running through some email replying and forwarding thing to the playhouse.
Quinn snuck up on Rachel wrapping her arms over Rachel’s neck pressing a kiss into her cheek. "Hey baby." Rachel said turning to look at Quinn.
"I thought you said he was awake." Quinn said looking at Kurt. Rachel turned around and saw Blaine staring at Kurt at the door.
She stood up and walked over to Blaine saying, "He is he fell asleep about 30 minutes ago."
Blaine looked down at her. "Hi big sister." He said his smile didn't quite hit his eyes.
"Hey baby brother," Rachel wrapped her arm around him and hugged him tightly.
"I've missed you."
Comments
Your drug Blaine is great. I just hope he can get it together before Kurt takes his father's advise and walked out.
Very good...can't wait to see what happens next. Blaine needs to go to actual rehab.
so im at my friends and have been reading this on my phone but i asked to use her computer so i can give you a review. this story is amazing. i fought back tears after the first couple of paragraphs. i dont think ive cried so much this early on in a stroy thus far. this is breaking my heart but i cant stop reading and i dont want to. im just hoping this has a happy ending. i dont know if i could handle it otherwise. it really hits home. please give us a happy ending...
thank you so much for the review! I've been in your shoes before, you're friend is probably worried huh. I wish it had a happy ending but like my warning in the first chapter. someone dies.... then again, I've matured from the writer I use to he and I might end it without the death.... idk, life is kinda busy we'll have to wait and see....
