The knight threw the ball to the in zone and Blaine intercepted it making the crowd go wild as he brought it back to the 40 yard. The knights called a time out as McKinley's stand erupted in victory chants the cheerleaders led.
Sam and Blaine bumped chest off to the side as all the players were celebrating early.
"I had no idea football was so exciting," Kurt yelled to Rachel over the roar of the crowd.
"Me neither!" She shouted back cheering. The whistle blew as both teams returned to the field. The whistle blew once more and Finn hiked the ball, Mike and Blaine started running for the goal. There were three knights blocking Mike so Finn threw the ball at Blaine seconds before he was tackled. Blaine caught the ball and ran to the goal then just as he touched the goal a Knight tackled him hard to the ground.
Kurt grabbed Rachel hand and flinched, it wasn't the first time Blaine got tackled but he didn't jump up like the times before.
Kurt stood up on the bleachers to get a closer look as Blaine's team members crowded around him. Puck pushed the guy that tackled Blaine starting a fight that Beiste quickly broke up as the medical team ran to the field.
"Oh my god," Kurt panicked as both crowds were completely silent.
"Go down there," Rachel urged stepping out the bleachers to let Kurt go. By the time he got to the grass the crowd was cheering as Blaine limped off the field to the field-house. Kurt walked into the field house just as Blaine got seated in the medical corner. Blaine saw Kurt right away and tried to smile at him. "Hey Kurt," he said hissing as the medic began to wrap his leg.
"Are you okay? Did anything break?" Kurt asked panicked.
"I'm fine, I pulled a muscle and bruised a few ribs. I'm out for the rest of the game." Blaine assured Kurt as a student help pull his shoulder pads off.
"That doesn't sound like you're fine." Kurt said stuttering as he saw Blaine's muscular tanned chest and the purple by his ribs.
"I'll see my misuse in the morning for my leg and sleep on my left side for my ribs." He laughed it off but stopped quickly when he realized how much it hurt.
"I guess it is bad luck to say break a leg before the district championship game." Kurt said realizing it was his fault.
"It wasn't you, I told him to kiss my ass like a quarter ago." Blaine said but still saw the worry in Kurt's eyes. Blaine lifted his arm as the student wrapped his chest.
"You're really, really good." Kurt said.
"Yeah, I am the MVP after all, I'm glad you came." Blaine said as the medic finished his leg and assisted the student with his ribs.
"This is my first and probably last football game ever." Kurt said.
"What? You didn't like it?" Blaine asked looking around the medic.
"I didn't like watching you get hit..." Kurt said, "and its pretty nerve wracking."
"Those are the best parts." Blaine said enthusiastically as the medic handed him a crutch. Kurt shook his head and rolled his eyes unsure if Blaine was being sarcastic or if he was serious.
"Walk me to the bench?" Blaine asked throwing his jersey over his shoulder and standing up on the crutch. Kurt quickly walked to help Blaine hop out the doors to watch the last twenty seconds of the game. Mike landed at the 10 yard line before the buzzer went off so Blaine was the last one to make a touch down. The crowd erupted as the defensive team dumped Gatorade on coach Beiste. Finn and Quinn made out as other couples gathered in victory PDA. Blaine's parent came to the field and asked Blaine questions about his leg and ribs. Kurt took that opportunity to find Rachel. She was getting celebratory high fives from the team, Sam even picked her up and hugged her. She caught Kurt's eye and ran over to him. "How is he?" She asked.
"He's fine, so he says." Kurt informed her. Mike threw his hand over their shoulders, "celebrating at breadstixx you two are coming right?" He didn't wait for his answer as he ran to the next group of people.
"I guess we are going to breadstixx," Kurt said waving his dad down.

Kurt, Rachel, Tina, and Mike all shared a table behind Blaine and his family. Kurt would turn around every few minutes to listen to Blaine brag on the phone with his brother. Cooper watched the whole game on face time though his dads phone. "State is down here in Columbus and I've already started tailgating." Cooper said laughing. Kurt couldn't believe that he was at a football celebration party much less he was enjoying himself.
Mike and Tina called it a night and leaving Kurt and Rachel at the table alone. Kurt turned to Rachel and in a low voice, "can you cover for me with Zaiah tomorrow?"
Rachel scorned him, "I'm team Blaine, why would I do that?"
"I think I'm going to break up with him." Kurt then said in an even lower voice.
Rachel smiled, "then yes I will. What time will you be arriving at my house?"
"I don't know, I guess after I break up with him. But I'm not sure how, I don't want to hurt him."
"Of course you don't, but please do and the sooner the better." Rachel said.
