"Now with Cooper Anderson you have nothing to worry about. He is the sweetest, gentlest patient at mental hospital." Olivia explained to me as I received my new pin and badge.
"I’m just happy to be here, though I have no idea how I landed the job, I have a degree in medicine and pharmaceuticals." I told her.
"Oh Kurt, your just passing out the pills," she teased. "Do the honors?" She pointed to the door.
I smiled and with my newly appointed key pass I let us into the 4th floor. We walked through the door and she began to tell me the diagnosis. "So Cooper has been here 4 and a half years already. He is the most well known throughout the hospital. He had schizophrenia, originally we thought it was a brief reaction caused by his brothers death, but Cooper doesn't believe Blaine is dead." Olivia said.
"What do you do?" I asked truly wanting to know.
"I go along with it," she told me honestly. "His doctor tried to tell him otherwise but he and Blaine don't believe it." She explained further.
"Do you know what happened to Blaine?" I ask.
"Nope," she ended the conversation with that and started explaining the pills I had to give to Cooper at lunch, and the other patients I'll be working with. We got outside Cooper's door and heard him laughing. Olivia smiled as she opened the door,
"What's so funny Coop?" He turns to us and I'm mesmerized by his lustrous blue eyes, like sapphire sat in his eye sockets, he had a strong jaw line and a precious smile that just made you feel warm on the inside. His hair was slicked back and jet black. He turned his head to couch the back to me with a brighter smile.
"Blaine is just funny," he told Olivia. "Is this the newbie?" He looked at me.
"Yes this is, fresh out of OSU Kurt Hummel."
"My brother thinks you cute." He told me then turn to the couch and back to me, "Never mind, I wasn't supposed to tell you that." Cooper turned to the empty couch once more before looking at Olivia, "Liv, wanna go for a walk next time its warm outside?" He flirted with her.
She smiled and brought him his pills. "Sure Coop, today is the first of spring, so in about a week or two it should be very nice." I wasn't sure if she was flirting back or playing into his fantasy. Cooper took the pills and turned back to the cough and hissed, "Stop staring." I assume the blank couch was his brother, who was...staring at me.
I was intrigued by his sureness in the fake world. "How old is Blaine?" I asked out of curiosity.
Cooper turned to the couch. "He's..." his face fell and he moved to his feet, "Blaine," his voice cracked in pain. "Blainers?" he says in a quieter voice circling the room. "He must have gone to the bathroom," Cooper's eyes were wide with fear, Olivia shook her head at me and told me to leave.
I stepped out side the room. What was that, I never thought it would be this weird. Poor guy, I have to find out more about him and his brother. Olivia came back out with a slight grimace. "Does that always happen?" I asked.
"No," she said curtly. "we put up this wall for him years ago and when you ask thing like that it messes with it. These are special cases when knowing their disillusion is better than suppressing it. The first year he was here we suppressed Blaine and Cooper tried to kill himself. But he knows if Blaine leaves he just has to get close to death to bring him back." She explained making me feel suddenly like shit.
"I'll remember that," I said dully.
"You don't have to worry about Abigail, she is aware of the future but keeps her boyfriend around after both her in a fatal car crash." Olivia said nodding her head to go down the hall.
