love you all as much as i love klaine
When Kurt finally came to, all that filled his nostrils was a very devious array of scents. One very sterile, and one very sweet and pastry-like. Little did he know, the sterile scent was from the room he was passed out in - and the pastry smell was the croissant that Blaine had demolished about 2 minutes ago.. He was a stress eater. Then a calloused thumb was stroking at his burning cheeks, along with faint whispers asking "can you see, Kurt?"
He stutters for the few first seconds of speaking, feeling his throat get tighter and tighter as he proceeded to mutter incoherent words. Rough sheets were scratching at the sides of his bare tummy, where a sticky cool stubstance was being ever so gently rubbed in circles; Kurt had never felt this feeling before.
"Wh- Whats happening?" Kurt pressed when he could finally open his eyes with heavy lids and conjour up a sentence. He started to shake his head prefusely when he blinked over and saw that the doctor had an ultra sound cord and was about to scan for the baby crawling around in his womb.
Oh god, his baby. What he hell was happening?
"Hes scanning your stomach to see if the baby is still alive, Kurt." He caught a sudden glimpse of Blaine speaking - Kurt thought about responding before he was unsubconciously grabbing the cardboard bucket that had been purposely placed by his weak knees and threw up into it.
Everybody standing around Kurts hospitalised bedside turned away in union, slyly holding their index finger and thumbs up to their nose to stop the smell of puke getting to them.
"That would be the Ipecac Syrup taking a toll," The doctor snorted playfully, proceeding to place the cold ultrasound cord on Kurts coiled over stomach, then using a spare hand to push Kurt back slightly to get a better angle. "We had to force you to swallow that when you woke up 20 minutes ago half dased, then you fell back to sleep."
The doctor got back to pressing the ultrasound head harder into Kurts tummy, causing another gag from him. His wrinkled face looked even more worried, concerned even. A few minutes passed without a word or a breath. Kurt laid himself down with his head gently resting gingerly on the pillow beneath him, "Is my baby dead?"
"- Our baby." Blaine interupted as his hand slipped off the chair he was balancing himself up on, not being able to look up at the screen where his baby was squirming about happily.
"You cant just fuck me, leave me and come back when you realise Im pregnant. Thats not how it works." Kurt spat out to Blaine harshly, Burt cringed at the word "fuck", He had always been dubious if Kurt and Blaine had taken that extra step in their relationship - Obviously Kurt being pregnant answers that.
Blaine responded with silence, sending a sorry look to his ex fiance.
"No, Kurt and Blaine. Your baby is very well alive actually," The doctor laughed, almost dramatically. "Its quite a miracle, but when you do give birth to it; I will pass a word onto the nurse who delivers it to keep it in an incubator and under a 72 hour watch because unfortuat-"
"It should be dead, shouldnt it?" Blaine interupted, staring adamantly down at his cracked fingernails, not moving from where he had slipped. "We are all just sat here pretending nothing has happened these past few months."
Everyone that was breathing in the small crowded curtain confined room, shuddered with sudden breathlessness. Recalling what had actually happened these past few months that Blaine was referring to. Not a sound was made, only the gust of wind from when Kurt moved his hand to slick back his sweaty fringe and a pencil had been pushed onto the floor.
Burt was the second one to speak up. "Im sorry guys, but, Kurt and Blaine. I know you have your differences, but for this babys sake. I am asking you to re-think your relationship."
Still the room was filled with silence. Kurt ignored Burts statement -
He took a shakey breath and removed the ultrasound the doctor had gingerly slanted on his kicking stomach. "Im sorry I didnt tell you, Blaine, Dad and Carole. Im also sorry that I went completely off the wheel, when Blaine told me that he had started dating Karofsky, that was the night that I was going to tell him about the baby."
There was no responce, so Kurt continued speaking. "I locked myself in the bathroom of Scandals after I found out about them and cried on the sticky, sweaty floor, until Blaine came in and I ran out as fast as I could holding the pregnancy stick. That was when I decided I was no good for this world, I drank and I drank until I literally couldnt walk anymore. I wanted this baby out of me, I didnt want Blaine to bring up my baby with David Karofsky - The person who has tormented me the most in my life, Im sorry but Im worthless without you, Blaine."
Said boy moved swiftly forward, carefully sitting down on a chair next to Kurts hospital bed and leaned over to capture Kurts left hand in his and stroked his sweaty fringe out of his face with the other hand.
"But.. I dont want you to get back together with me."
Blaine looked Kurt dead in the eye so quickly his head could of snapped off. "Oh, yes we are. Were having a baby, not just you, Kurt." Blaine looked as convinced as ever, like suddenly everything is okay again because he got a boy pregnant. "Kurt I dont love Dave, I never have. Its always going to be you."
"My due date isnt until June the 29th. Im sure I can repulse you enough by then so you wont get back with me." Kurt laughed, obviously joking, but still sounding as serious as a pregnant person could. "My due date is still June 29th right?"
Apparently most people had the same question it seemed, as everyone looked up to the doctor in syncronization. The doctor held his hands up in a surrender motion. "Dont ask me! Im not the baby in there. Itll come out when its ready, but I see no reason as to why the dates would have changed."
Burt suddenly piped up, slapping his hand down on Kurts shoulder. "Im sorry that you had to go through this son, but atleast youre okay now. Right?"
Drawing his eyes away from Blaines face, Kurt nodded and smiled brightly for the first time in a month. "Yeah," He sighed out. "Im gunna be just fine."
Before anyone could speak up to reply, the doctor stood up and handed Kurt a small bottle of vodka. Everyone looked at the doctor with a quizzicle look and Kurt murmered, "Um, thank you?"
The doctor laughed and his eyes crinkled up. "You cant just deprive your body of something youve been giving it once a day for a whole 30 days, Kurt. Youll start to get shakes, youll probably pass out if you dont give it some alcohol. Heck you might even die. So once every other day - You must pour 10ml of this vodka into some real coke, not the diet kind. When you get halfway down the bottle, reduce the amount you use until the bottle is completely empty."
Silently everyone started to giggle to themselves, because the cure to Kurts illness.. is more vodka! After a while the giggling died down, because everything was going to be just fine.
After the baby was born, Kurt and Blaine didnt wait one second to get started on the second one.
