Kurt sleeps for what he thinks is about 30minutes before waking up. He jumps down from his branch making sure to land as safely as he can. Its pitch black and he just about makes it. The sound of the wind brushing through the trees fills the air making Kurt feel anxious. He slowly takes one step at a time making sure not fall over any hidden tree roots. He wants to call out for Blaine but there’s no point, he knows he’s not going to be here. He doesn’t even know what state his going to be in or even if his still alive. It suddenly gets lighter like someone just switched on a light and he takes it as his cue to start running.
It gets lighter and lighter and now it feels like its midday. After what feels like forever Kurt finds himself back where he started at the Cornucopia. He looks around to find no one else in sight. He sighs in relief and goes to search for weapons.
His search goes unsuccessful. He had been hoping that maybe the Capitol would have put out something. He stands there for a few minutes keeping his ears and eyes peeled for anything unusual. Kurt senses something behind him so he turns quickly. He sees another male tribute in the distance. He looks terrified and unarmed. “This is the last tribute” Kurt thinks to himself as he charges towards the other tribute. Something in Kurt’s brain switched, he knew once this tribute was out of the way he was free to find Blaine without worry of getting attacked by another tribute.
Kurt slows down as he sees the other boy smile and starts running towards him, jumping on Kurt knocking them both onto the floor. Both are throwing punches, both unsure whose body is who. Kurt starts to grab the other tributes head and manages to roll over so he can get the advantage as he begins to bang the other boy’s head against the floor. The other boy is still punching Kurt before himself grabs Kurt’s face and goes for his eyes. Kurt reacts as he throws back the other boys head further making him lose grip. They roll around again this time closer to the wooded area. Kurt smashes his head against the other tributes making them both scream. He continues to bash the boys head against the floor before finding some rocks and with one mightily smash he hears the cannon go off as the body below him goes lifeless. Kurt immediately rolls off the other tribute and lies down on the floor beside him.
“I’m so sorry” Kurt says while he catches his breath.
Kurt walks back to the Cornucopia before he sits down resting his back against the side of it. He sees something in the distance. It looks like its limping. Kurt gulps as he gets back up and starts to run to the other side of the Cornucopia. He watches the thing slowly make its way to the central, it’s Blaine. Kurt can’t believe his eyes as he watches him fall to the floor screaming. Kurt starts to move forward again.
“Is this what you want?” Blaine shouts towards the sky. His whole body aching in pain.
“Is it?” He continues. He starts to put his hands towards his mouth.
“Blaine” Kurt screams making the other boy turn round.
“K...K...Kurt?” Blaine says as he rubs his eyes in disbelief.
“I’m here Blaine.” Kurt says as he finally grabs Blaine and pulls him into a kiss. They both sigh as they forget about everything around them and in that moment everything is fine.
They finally release when a voice fills the air. They both keep a hold of each other.
“Only one can win the game” The voice speaks as they both shake their heads.
“No” Kurt screams as he leans down to the floor and picks up what Blaine had dropped. They were little dark purple berry’s, Nightlock. Eating only one would cause instant death.
“I would rather die than lose you.” Kurt says as leans his forehead against Blaine’s.
“And so would I” Blaine replies as he is pasted a few berry’s from Kurt. They kiss again, more slowly this time as they whisper “I love yous” to each other. They keep their forehead together as they move their hands towards their mouths, not once looking away from each other’s eyes.
“There will be no winner” Blaine shouts as they lock their free hands around each other’s necks.
“Together” Blaine whispers.
“Together” Kurt repeats as he put his hand next to his mouth.
“STOP” The voice screams. They both do as the voice says as the wind picks up. Blaine pulls Kurt closer towards him as he grabs the berries from Kurt’s hand and throws them into his pocket.
The aircraft lands just besides them as Blaine shelter’s Kurt from the heavy wind that’s being generated by its engines. Both slightly relieved but also wary as a group of people in white uniforms exit the aircraft and walk towards them. Blaine grips Kurt’s hand as tight as he can and lifts his head high to gain height.
“It’s going to be ok” Blaine whispers as Kurt nods his head. They both step forward as the men signal for them to get into the aircraft. They both follow one of the guards who shows them to their seats. It’s silent and nobody says anything as they sit side by side on one of the side seats, not once letting go of their hands as they feel the aircraft being to rise slightly shaking them in their seats. Kurt feels himself begin to nod off from the vibration. Blaine keeps an eye on everyone around them as he whispers something into Kurt’s ear.
About an hour later they finally land and Blaine wakes up a sleeping Kurt.
“We’re home?” Kurt asks as he looks into Blaine’s eyes. Blaine nods no as two men start to grab him forcing him away from Kurt.
“Blaine!” Kurt screams as another two begin to grab him and pull him in the opposite direction.
“Kurt!” Blaine screams back as he smashes his hand into one of the men’s face but he doesn’t respond.
“Kurt” Blaine screams again as he kicks and screams but it’s no good they are too strong.
“Don’t hurt him, please” Kurt cries as they put a needle into his arm making him fall back to sleep instantly.
“Kurt!” Blaine shouts one last time before the same happens to him.
“K..k..kur...” Blaine says as he falls to sleep.
