Two weeks had pasted and the police still hadn't found Kurt's attacker. Blaine was a lot more himself now as he started to learn how to live a life without Kurt but he was never going to be 100% again. There was always going to be that piece missing from their family.

Blaine had been helping Burt with the necessary funeral arrangements as well as making sure they could fly Kurt's body back to Lima. After sorting out the correct paperwork they finally got round to picking a day for the funeral itself. They decided to have it in just over a week to make sure that everyone who was close to Kurt could attend.

After a few hours Blaine decided it was time to collect Liz and Alex since a friend had agreed to look after them while they sorted out what they needed to without the distraction of young children.

Blaine had always enjoyed walking through New York but today felt different. He felt confined and trapped. Everything he had once loved about the city just felt wrong and for once in his life he actually missed Lima. He missed the wide open spaces and how clean the air was compared to the buzzing city. The once welcoming city now felt dark and ugly and he wanted out.

The week had pasted by quickly and after hectic flight Blaine had finally landed in Lima. Kurt's body had been flown over earlier in the week and was being held at the local funeral home. Blaine met Burt at the airport after he travelled back with his son's body.
"How you are doing son?" Burt asked as he hugged his son-in-law.
"Hanging in there, just." Blaine replied as he tightened his grip on Alex's hand. Liz was just a few steps behind determined to pull her own suitcase which was just as tall as she was.
"Let me help you there little lady" Burt said as he held out his hand for Liz to pass the handle. She stared at him for a few seconds before accepting his offer.

They walked through arrives in silence before arriving to Burt's car. He put the bags in the back as Blaine made sure Liz and Alex were all belted up. After Blaine was done he turned to look behind him to make some witty comment about being back in Lima to Kurt but then he remembered the reason he was here in the first place as soon as he saw the empty space that was in front of him. He felt his heart stop for second before springing back to life when a small warm hand reached for his.
"Daddy" A small voice whispered. Blaine looked behind him to see Liz looking with concern at him.
"Yes princess?" He replied as he bent to his knees to look at his daughter in the eye.
"I love you"
"And I love you to." Blaine said as he kissed her hand. He got back up shutting the door behind him and going for the front passenger seat.
"I think I'm going to sleep if that's ok?" Blaine asked as Burt got in next to him who nodded before turning on the engine.

Blaine felt someone tapping his shoulder and he opened his eyes.
"Carol?" He mumbled as his eyes adjusted to the suddenly sunlight.
"How are you feeling?" She asks as she waits for Blaine to unbuckle his seatbelt. He mumbles something under his breath before speaking up again.
"I'm sorry...just don't feel too good. Think it must have been the airplane food or something."
"Go and have a lie down, your room is ready and me and Burt can look after the kids." Carol replies with concern as she lets Blaine get out of the car.
"Are you sure? I don't want to just dump them on you." Blaine asks.
"Blaine, they are our grandkids we don't mind at all." They finally reach the house but just before they go through the door they stop. Blaine stares at Carol for a few seconds in silence. He mouths the words 'Thank You' before he hugs her.

Blaine wakes up a couple of hours later in his parent-in-laws spare room. He looks at the pictures hanging on the wall. He had never really spent his time looking at them before, well not in great detail any way. Each one was from every time Kurt and Blaine had come back to Lima to spend their summer with their parents and as each picture went on more people joined. Blaine stopped at one picture in particular of Burt, Carol, Kurt, Blaine and a baby Liz. Kurt was holding her proudly in his arms. She must have been just over 2 months old. Burt wasn't looking at the camera like everyone else, he was looking into Kurt's arms. His smile beaming so big that it made Blaine smile. Blaine thought back to that day. How Burt and Carol couldn't make it to New York for the birth due to work commitments and this was the first day they had got to see their first ever grandchild. How Kurt had been so proud that it was hard to get him to let go of their daughter and to let others carry her. How Kurt was the one worrying and telling his father how to hold her and how Burt replied with some witty remark on how he knows what his doing and how Kurt turned out fine.

Blaine turned away as he grabbed his shirt from the end of the bed and pulled it over his head. Walking to his suitcase, he opens it up to find it half empty. In his rush to get his and the kids bags packed he forgot to pack all of his essentials. He swears under his breath before heading to the door.

He walks out the room spotting Burt just down the corridor.
"Hey" Blaine says hoping to catch his attention which it does.
"You're awake" Burt replies as he straightens his cap.
"Do you mind if I borrow the car? I just need to grab a few things from the shop."
"I can drive you if you want?" Burt asks
"Sure"

Blaine pushes the trolley along scanning each isle as he goes past while Burt is in the DVD isle looking for a movie suitable for his grandkids to watch that night, he stops for a second.
"Excuse me" A voice behind him says as Blaine feels the edge of a basket push into his back. Blaine turns to apologise for the sudden pause but is left speechless when he recognises the face in front of him.

"I'm so sorry" The voice says as they both stare at each other.
"Sebastian?" Blaine finally speaks up.
"Blaine? Blaine Anderson? ... It's you isn't it?" The guy says as he runs his fingers through his hair. Blaine looks at his feet for a second as he thinks back to the last time they meet. They hadn't really interacted with each other since Blaine's move to New York after graduation but he had updates sometimes from when he he'd spoken to some of his old Warbler pals. Blaine nods and does a 'surprise it's me' rise of his shoulders.
"What are you doing here? How's Kurt?" Sebastian asks. Blaine looks down to his ring before he looks back up.
"He-he" Blaine stutters.
"He didn't divorce you did he?" Sebastian leans in.
"He um he died." Blaine finally replies as he wipes a few tears from his eyes. He can see the look in Sebastian's eyes, how his brain is trying to compute and understand the words he just said before he laughs.
"I'm sorry I think I miss understood you, did you say" But Sebastian stops midsentence as Blaine turns away and starts to push his trolley again.

Sebastian swears to himself before he starts to run after Blaine.
"I'm sorry Blaine. That-that probably wasn't the reaction you were going for and it wasn't, crap." He shouts but Blaine doesn't turn around just stops. He watches as Blaine leans in a bit and takes in what looks like a deep breath.
"It's ok" Blaine replies but his still tucked into himself. Sebastian finally catches up and stops by the trolley.
"Blaine you do know I really am sorry, right? It was just a shock and"
"Its fine" Blaine replies as he lifts his head up to look at Sebastian, his eyes red. Blaine takes another breath to help calm him down. They are both left in silence for a few seconds, both unsure what to say next.

"I really am sorry Blaine. I know me and Kurt, well we never really got along but he was a good guy and he cared for you." Sebastian finishes as he turns to walk away. He can feel the Blaine's gaze at him.
"Sebastian?" Blaine asks, his voice childlike as Sebastian turns round.
"Yes?"
"Thank you."
"Here..." Sebastian pulls out his wallet from his back pocket and takes out a business card.
"Here is my number, if you need to talk to someone about anything I'm here to listen. I mean after our history you might not feel comfortable with it and I understand but I just want to, well be here if you need me." Sebastian smiles before he waves his hand in the air.
"I have to go I kind of have someone waiting for me." Sebastian finishes.
"Maybe we can get coffee sometime and have a catch up." Says Blaine as he puts the card in his back pocket.
"Sure and you have my number now." They both put out a hand before they both shake.
"I really am sorry."
