Chapter 3

As soon as Kurt was taken out of the room, Mrs. Anderson and Dr. Fisher hurried to Blaine's side.

"Blaine, I'm Dr. Fisher. How do you feel?" Dr. Fisher asked, kneeling down in front of Blaine.

"My head really hurts and my arm, mostly my head." Blaine told the doctor, "What happened?"

"You were in a car accident. You have a broken arm, and you're pretty banged up all together." the doctor replied.

"I can drive?" Blaine asked, which earned many confused looks.

"Okay, Blaine," Dr. Fisher began, "can you tell me what today is?"

"Umm..." Blaine looked to his mom, who just nodded encouragingly. "I'm sorry, no." He could tell that was the wrong answer by his mom's twisted face and the doctor's sigh.

"What's the last thing you remember outside of the hospital?" Dr. Fisher inquired.

Blaine thought about the question for a few minutes then replied, "I'm pretty sure a few days ago I went paintballing with my friends and then the ice cream cake melted. But, I don't really remember what we did the days after that." Dr. Fisher looked to Mrs. Anderson for her reaction.

"That was his tenth birthday party." Mrs. Anderson gasped.

"Are you sure that's the last thing you remember? You father said you were driving home from a friend's house when you were hit." Dr. Fisher explained.

"But, I can't drive." Blaine said as if the doctor was the one who was wrong.

"Blaine, I think you have amnesia." the doctor said, scribbling something on his clipboard. His mom gasped and put her hand over her mouth, she always overreacts.

"Will he be okay? When can he come home?" She asked in a fluster.

"We'll have to see how he does over the weekend, but he should back to school by Wednesday at the latest." Dr. Fisher announced, getting up from the ground and leading Mrs. Anderson out of the room. "You hungry, Blaine?" He nodded. "I'll have some food brought to you."

"Thanks." the doctor nodded before closing the door, leaving Blaine and his father alone in the room. They sat in an awkward, tension filled silence, which didn't seem that awkward to his dad. But, for Blaine it's was weird and unusual. He felt like he was in a crowded room, even though it was just the two of them, because the tension was that thick. Something must have happened between them in the years that Blaine forgot.

"How old am I?" Blaine blurted. His dad looked at him, surprised that he had spoken.

"Seventeen. Junior in high school." His dad said flatly.

"What happened to us?" Blaine asked.

"What?" His dad snapped.

"Do we ever talk?" Before his dad could reply, there was a light knock on the door. "Come in?" Blaine said, unsure of who it was.

A young candy striper came in carrying a tray of food. She was a pretty girl, fairly short, with curly blonde hair that bounced when she walked and light green eyes. She also had a nice body, skinny and curved, and despite her height, she also had long legs. Blaine was attracted to her, or at least what he was pretty sure he remembered as being attracted to someone.

When she placed the tray of food onto the table next to Blaine's bed, she leaned over giving Blaine a clear view down her shirt, which Blaine wasn't sure if it was intentional or not.

"Good to see you awake." She said, before turning to wave at Mr. Anderson, then leaving. Blaine couldn't help but watch her leave. She has a nice butt, Blaine thought, surprising even himself. Mr. Anderson watched his son carefully,

"Did you just check her out?" He asked. Blaine blushed and bit his lip.

"Yeah, sorry." He said sheepishly.

"Don't be sorry," Mr. Anderson said. "That's perfectly normal for boys your age. Plus," he said lowering his voice, "she's cute, I would go for it." Blaine's blush reddened. Mr. Anderson could use this amnesia to his advantage.

Kurt sat up and rubbed his eyes, yawning. He looked around and realized that he was still in his car in front of the hospital. He grudgingly noticed that his damp clothes were disheveled and wrinkled. He looked in the mirror and was mortified by what he saw. His hair was standing up in all directions, his face was tear stained and his eyes were bloodshot and swollen from crying himself to sleep. Picking up his phone, he realized that he had twenty one texts and nineteen missed calls, mostly from his dad, Carole, and Finn asking where he was and few from his New Direction and Warbler friends who had heard about Blaine's accident. He checked the time, about nine inthe morning. First he had to call dad and reassure him that he was safe.

"Kurt?" His dad picked up on the first ring.

"Yeah dad, it's me."

"Kurt, where are you? Are you okay?" His dad asked.

"I'm fine, I spent the night at the hospital."

"Thank God. Carole and I have been worried sick about you!" His dad yelled half heartedly, he wanted to be mad at Kurt for not calling sooner, but he was just glad he was okay. "Are you with Blaine? Is he okay?"

"I saw him. He's awake now."

"Good for him. Why don't you sound happy?" That was when Kurt broke down again. "What happened, buddy?"

"He... he doesn't remember me." Kurt managed through sobs.

"Blaine?" His father asked. Kurt nodded before realizing that his dad couldn't see him.

"Yes. He's not gay anymore, daddy." Kurt rarely said daddy, with the exception of when he's sick or five years old.

"That's not possible, Kurt. Just come on home and sleep, then we can sort this. Does that sound okay, buddy?"

"Yeah, I'll see you soon, daddy." Kurt sniffled. He hung up and put his phone onto the center console of his car, before driving home.
