Blaine sat nervously at the bar. A date with Kurt always made him anxious. Usually it was a good kind of anxious; the butterflies and nervous giggles. Tonight, however, he had a bad feeling. Maybe it was all of the strange looks he was getting from the people around him. Possibly the fact that the general public have been dying to get there hands on both Batman and Robin, to unmask them and reveal their identity. And the general public did outnumber him here, even with Treble Cleff and Golden Girl hidden in the crowd. Although, Blaine's nerves were mostly likely due to Catman. He was bringing a villain into a room full of innocent, and not so innocent, people, what was he thinking?

He was thinking tha Kurt would never doing anything to harm those people. But, he wasn't positive it was even Kurt he was meeting with. Blaine never really confirmed him and Catman were the same person. He also never confirmed whether or not Catman was going to show up. Blaine needed him to, that was how he would find out for sure who the man behind the mask was.

And what if it wasn't Kurt? What would Blaine do then? What if Catman was deeply, truly evil? What if he was more than a cat burglar and he actually tried to harm the people here?

But, now was not the time for doubt. Catman was walking in; it was show time.

Kurt saw Robin waving him over, from his spot at the bar. A taking a deep breathe, to prepare himself, Kurt made his way over. He tried to ignore the stares from the other people at the bar, they were making him self concious about his outfit. But really, who where's a cat costume to a bar?

"Hello, Robin." Kurt greeted the boy.

"Hi!" Robin answered far to enthusiastically, then extended his hand to Kurt. This only earned him a Who-Do-You-Think-You-Are? Never-Gonna-Happen look from Kurt. "Right, uh," Robin retracted his hand, using it to smooth down his hair. Very discrete. He always did love his hair. "Can I buy you a drink?"

"If you want." Kurt shrugged. He was trying to appear indifferent and smug about everything, at least that was the plan, until he figured out Robin's plan. Was it too soon to be calling him Blaine in his mind? He knew it was him anyways.

Blaine looked overjoyed by Kurt's answer, even though he had answered cooly. "Okay, what do you want?"

"Doesn't matter." Kurt replied. But, really it did. He always got the same drink, a Sherley Temple. He's been sober since the Bambi incident his sophmore year. He knew Blaine would order the right drink, even Sebastion Smythe ordered the right drink.

Blaine gave a smug grin. "Two Shirley temples, please." He told the bartender.

"Ah, you know my bar order." Kurt smiled, then immediately let it fall. Shit, he wasn't supposed to say that out loud. He tried to avoid Blaine's eyes and began looking around the bar.

But, even Stevie Wonder could see the ear to ear full on, nothing but teeth grin Blaine flashed him. "Of course I do." He looked so giddy, it almost hurt.

"So, a Shirley temple, huh?" Kurt asked, eyes still looking anywhere but Blaine. The indifference had failed, it was now time for Plan B- small talk the hell out of that boy. "You struck me as more of the beer type." Blaine was, Kurt knew that. He loved nothing more than getting drunk, forgetting himself for a night. Even if that meant the hangover the next day. Kurt always thought it was because of how much pressure his parents put on him to be perfect and how much they stress him out with his failure compared to his brother.

"I like a good ginger ale and cherry now and then." He shrugged. Kurt nodded as his eyes drifted to a double take worthy sight. Rachel Berry? That nose was unmistakable. What was she doing her and why was she dressed in that?

The girl in the golden dress, cape and mask was determinedly mouthing something to a person on the other side of the bar. Curious, Kurt waited until it wouldn't be obvious to turn and look behind him. Finn Hudson. Aside from the fact that it was his own brother, Kurt remembered seeing pictures on Facebook and Instagram of him in that costume when they had a superhero week in Glee club after he graduated. That would explain why Blaine kept glancing past Kurt during his rant on great female performers; starting with Sherley Temple of course, then proceeding to prompt Kurt to mention Patti LuPone or Gaga. Not mention the Katy Perry pit stops.

Keep calm, don't let him know you're on to him, Kurt reminded himself. "Speaking of great performers," Kurt said. Blaine's face looked so full of hope, Kurt almost wanted to just throw him a bone. Almost. "How about Mellencamp?" Eh, it was half a bone. They all knew Kurt's identity crisis many years ago.

Blaine gave him a look, he was definetly suspicious. "I'm so top 40s, that I'm not even familiar with them." Blaine hinted. Well played Anderson, well played. Now that Kurt new the game, he could have a little fun. The goal for Blaine was to make Kurt slip up and have Finn and Rachel catch it to back him up. But Kurt wasn't having any of that.

"Top 40s? So what is that, like One Direction?" Kurt played dumb, he knew what Blaine meant.

The younger man chuckled, "Uh, no. Actually, it isn't really top 40s now. But in 2012ish, P!nk, Beyonce. Katy Perry: The Queen of Everything."

"I thought Elizabeth was the queen..." Kurt muttered, keeping up his facade. On a normal day, he would've said Gaga. But the royal family is pretty great, too.

"Anyways," Blaine rolled his eyes, affectionately. Kurt tried to look irritated. "My favorite Katy Perry song was-is Teenage Dream."

Kurt shrugged, "never heard of it."

"Right." Blaine nodded, unconvinced. A bartender walked past the boys to serve someone their drink. Someone who hadn't been waiting as long as Kurt and Blaine. He couldn't help it, Kurt snapped his fingers at the young tender, impatience taking over. In his defense, it's been a while to have a good drink from a bar. Honestly, it's been a while since he's had a bad drink from McDonalds and he actually misses that. People change. But, clearly not enough. Blaine caught his little slip and leaned in to whisper, "snapping your fingers isn't gonna make them move any faster." Kurt looked away, avoiding the hazel eyes. He knew they saw right through him.

Taking the cue he was given, Finn got up and left a little after Kurt's departure. He followed his stepbrother through the crowded streets of New York. It was dimly light and he was trying to keep up, without seeming too obvious.

He really didn't know what he was doing, Blaine hadnt had time to train them at all. So, Finn was left with what he's learned from movies. He just has to stay one step, three steps, seven steps ahead. Wait, no he has to stay behind Kurt. He'll be two steps behind him, but that's too close. Just head down, keeping walking, look casual. Even though he looked suspicious as hell. His costume was covered by a long trench coat, his mask concealed by the bill of a press hat. Could he be anymore obvious?

When Kurt made a turn down an alley way, Finn began to long for the crowd. Although. It was now easier for Finn to follow Kurt, the one on one made him more obvious. He felt so awkward and a loud clomping behind the practically silent Kurt. But, the cat hadnt turned around yet. That was a good sign, right?

Finn pressed himself down behind a dumpster when Kurt looked around, before ducking in through a large metal door. After waiting an appropriate amount of time, the man in hiding pulled out his phone and called Blaine, just as planned.

"Did you find it?" Blaine asked through the phone.

"Yeah, should I go in?" Finn inquired back, approaching the door with caution.

Blaine thought for a second, "not yet, wait for Rachel and I to get there. Where are you?"

Finn looked around for street signs, "looks like 42nd street, maybe forty-" his words got cut off by a foot colliding with his chest. The former quarterback fell flat on his ass, from just one swift kick.

A figured appeared, the foot returning to his chest, keeping him pinned to the ground. "Next time you follow someone, breathe through your nose." The figure tried to run, but Finn grabbed his ankle. Kurt. It was dark, but Finn was closer now. He was sure that was Kurt, if the voice wasn't already a dead give away.

"Kurt? It's me, Finn."

"You never saw me." He warned before kicking his foot free and running off. He watched his brother run off into the night. Then picked up his phone off the ground. He could hear Blaine and Rachel's concerned voices calling from the other end.

"Hey, I'm here. Can you guys come get me.

The duo turned onto 42nd street, where Finn anxiously waited. Rachel ran up to him, jumping in his arms. "Are you okay?" She gushed, "what happened?"

"I don't know, he tricked me. He knew I was following him and led me to the wrong place, then knocked me down and ran away." Finn explained, still a little confused himself. The headache from hitting the ground didn't help.

Blaine sighed, "Are you okay?" He reiterated Rachel's question.

"Yeah, my head and back hurt. And I think I broke my butt. I'll be fine." He waved off the worry, "but, I don't think I can keep doing this. Being a superhero hurts too much."

"I understand." Blaine nodded, even though the rejection did hurt a little. "Rach, are you still in?"

"I don't know, after what he did Finn, imagine what he could do to me. I'm tiny, Blaine. You're even taller than me." Rachel apologetically explained. Again, Blaine solemnly nodded.

"Hey, but for what it's worth, I'm positive you've got the right guy," Finn offered. "That's definetly Kurt." Then the couple offered goodbyes and walked off into the night, Rachel helping an injured Finn along. Blaine felt guilty seeing Finn hurt because of his selfish plan.

The good part about once again going the alone, was no one else could get hurt on his account. But, it was just so much easier with someone's help. For Blaine it was back to the drawing board.
