“Hey!” Blaine greeted his boyfriend as he trudged inside. Kurt was tearing off winter layers with a frown, passing Blaine wordlessly. “Bad day at the diner?” he called out to the living room.

“Dammit!” Blaine heard Kurt yell, following the noise of books clattering to the floor, presumably his collection of vocal books, audition materials, and musical scores he had left precariously perched on the edge of the coffee table. Blaine winced, knowing he should have followed his first mind and moved them earlier.

“You look really nice,” Blaine said in a small voice from where he was leaning against the doorframe.

Kurt looked up at Blaine from under his eyelashes before releasing a sigh.

“No, I don't. I look like shit, I feel like shit, and I'm never leaving this couch because I?”—Kurt fell onto the couch, his arms dramatically extended in defeat to the world—“am shit,” Kurt muttered.

“Hey, what's wrong? I thought you had a big audition tomorrow,” Blaine recalled, moving to straddle Kurt, who made a noise of protest.

“Im not going. And get off.”

“Why aren't you going?” Blaine asked, ignoring Kurt to kiss under his jaw.

“Im not going to get it,” Kurt mumbled before letting Blaine kiss him shortly on the lips.

“Kurt,” Blaine hummed out.

“I wont. I suck.” Kurt hid his face in his hands.

Blaine looked upon Kurt for a moment, feeling his mouth pull up in a smile at a thought.

“You're going because I'm going to cheer you up,” Blaine said in a matter-of-fact way, taking Kurt's hands away from his face. “Luckily, I made a Rogers and Hammerstein playlist today—”

“Blaine, I'm not—Blaine. Blaine. I'm tired,” Kurt said, fighting off a laugh as Blaine tried to kiss his neck and scramble blindly for the remote to the stereo at the same time. Kurt couldn't help but laugh when Blaine finally successfully grabbed the remote, but it didn't work. “Batteries must be out,” Kurt figured, wearing a smirk on his lips that Blaine kissed away. When he pulled back, he was wearing a grin of his own.

“Looks like I'm just going to have to get up.” Kurt groaned in reply, watching Blaine make his way across the room. “Anyway, everything sounds better on vinyl,” Blaine pointed out in a nearly ironic way.

Blaine carefully placed the needle onto his record of Love on Broadway. The instrumental of “Wunderbar” from Kiss Me, Kate was wrapping up, telling Blaine he had nearly chosen the exact spot.

“Now, you're going to dance with me whether you like it or not,” Blaine said, taking Kurt's hands and forcing him off of the couch. He nearly died laughing when Kurt fell bodily into him. “Kurt, come on,” he laughed.

“Too tired,” Kurt insisted in a grumble.

Blaine took Kurt's hand in his own and started swaying slowly, knowing Kurt would be forced to perk up after a few bars of being held close. He smiled, listening to the tinkling of the piano as “Make Believe” from Show Boat began playing.

Only make believe I love you. Only make believe that you love me,” Blaine sang gently into Kurt's ear. By the way Kurt's steps grew surer and his posture straightened, Blaine could tell he had done the right thing by singing along. “Others find peace of mind in pretending. Couldn't you? Couldn't I?”

Couldn't we?” Kurt joined in, rolling his eyes a bit at himself but smiling at Blaine's bright eyes.

Make believe, our lips are blending in a phantom kiss or two or three. Might as well, make believe I love you, for, to tell the truth,”—Blaine shrugged a little, smiling goofily—“I do,” he murmured.

“You're such a dweeb,” Kurt whispered, just staring.

“You're just saying that because this moment is getting really intimate,” Blaine teased, stopping their movements.

“I'm sure we've been more,”—Kurt wrapped his arms around Blaine—“intimate. Or have you forgotten?”

“Why don't you remind me?” Blaine challenged, laughing loudly when Kurt immediately tugged them towards the couch.

“Have I mentioned how lucky I am to be in love with you?” Kurt sighed, kissing Blaine lazily.

Blaine smiled. “It's me that's lucky.”

“No, really, Blaine, I… I don't tell you enough how much you mean to me, and that's everything. You're everything to me. And some days I think about what my life would be life if I hadn't ran into you at that audition and…” Kurt's voice got thick and he trailed off.

“Hey,” Blaine murmured, nuzzling his nose against Kurt's neck and looking up at the tears forming in his eyes. “Like you said, we're lucky.”

“But it's more than luck. It's more than the both of us,” Kurt softly murmured, his voice full of wonder. “Sorry, I probably sound crazy. I am really tired.”

“No. Never. You're never crazy,” Blaine whispered, earning a watery, lopsided smile from Kurt. “Okay, so aside from that time at the Broadway Flea Market when you really wanted those vintage Playbills,” he noted.

Kurt snorted, leaning up into a sitting position to playfully shove Blaine away.

“But in all seriousness,” Blaine continued, smiling around his words, “Kurt, when I met you, I just knew from that instant that there was something about you that promised you to me. I wasn't sure how or when, but things just sort of fell into place. It's more than luck. And I'm not sure what it is. It's something…”

“Something wonderful,” Kurt finished.

The two met gazes, sharing a smile.

“I love you, you know.”

“Duh,” Blaine replied, nudging Kurt's shoulder only to cup his chin moments later to pull Kurt gingerly forward into a chaste kiss. “And I think I've made it pretty obvious how in love I am with you.”

Kurt tried to fight off a smile and Blaine broke out into a grin of his own when he noticed that Kurt was unable to fight it off.

“So. Aren't I supposed to be reminding you of something?”

“What something?”

Kurt snaked his arms around Blaine again, lazily drawing out kiss after kiss until Blaine had to draw away and blink for a bit to gain his bearings.

“Oh. That. Of course.”

“So, you remember? That's it?” Kurt smirked.

“I'm not sure, I feel like my memory could use a little bit more… brushing up.”

“Such a dweeb,” Kurt breathed into Blaine's parted lips.

“Not what I'm needing to be reminded of,” he laughed out, it becoming quickly muffled by Kurt's mouth against his.

But Blaine's laugh rang out even louder when the two managed to fall off of the couch.

“So, is your night better now?”

“Everythings better with you.”
