Twenty four hours later the idea of Finn and Blaine fighting was extremely unappealing to Kurt. Immediately after school Finn marched straight to the football field where football practice was to begin in five minutes, fuming and prepared to finally confront Blaine.

"Hey, Finn, you don't have to do this. Really, I'm sure he's going to leave me alone now."

Finn stopped dead in his tracks, causing Kurt to bump right into him.

"Kurt, he didn't just hurt me. He hurt you too. I'm not going to just sit back and let him torment my family."

Finn stomped away from Kurt and marched onto the football field. Kurt groaned, why did Finn have to choose the most inappropriate time possible to be emotional and sensitive? Why couldn't he have been sensitive-Finn last week when Kurt had spent the entire night moping over the season finale of Shameless, or even the week before that when Kurt had spent a solid half hour crying over his toe, which he had stubbed on the bathroom wall after going through his moisturizing routine. He held back a childish whine as he begrudgingly followed Finn to the football field. He knew that Finn had reached the point of no return and there would be no hope in talking him out of confronting Blaine, but he hoped that maybe he could talk him out of doing something even stupider than what he was already planning to do.

When he finally reached the football field Kurt found that Finn and Blaine were already engaged in what seemed like a screaming battle. It wasn't until after a few seconds of intent listening that he realized the two were actually arguing, as opposed to simply shouting mindlessly at each other. He watched from a safe distance as the two argued, knowing that if the two noticed his presence it would only fuel the flames of their wildfire of an argument. Fortunately the two didn't get physical, they only argued back and forth for several minutes. Kurt attempted to decipher what the two were shouting, but as the argument grew more heated their words began to jumble together until it became seemingly impossible to understand what either boy was shouting. The argument came to a sudden end end when Blaine ceased his shouting and marched away from Finn. Finn turned to where Kurt was standing a few feet away, his fists clenched and his face redder than Kurt had ever seen it before.

"I'm going to talk to Coach Beiste. Just…just sit on the bleachers or something until I get back," he half shouted before storming away.

Kurt sighed before trudging over to the bleachers. He settled down on one of the lower bleachers and pulled his phone out of his pocket. He sent Clarissa a quick text, asking if he could still come to her house later, to which she almost instantly replied that he was always welcome to come over. He tucked his phone back into his pocket and began rummaging through his bag for his homework pad. He didn't know how much time Finn was going to spend taking to Coach Beiste, or worse, arguing with Blaine again, but he decided to at least do something productive while he waited for Finn to end his tirade. His search was interrupted when a pair of strong hands slammed down on the bleacher in front of him. He struggled to hold in a high pitched scream when he looked up to find a fuming Blaine, who he had just noticed was clad in his football uniform, standing before him.

"So thats how you want to play this game, new kid? I slushie you and send you a couple of stupid texts so you send your string bean brother after me. That's pathetic. You know what? I'm done being nice to you. I thought that maybe if I didn't fuck you up too bad on your first day and buttered you up enough you'd let me get into your pants, but I don't care anymore. You'd better say your prayers tonight, Hummel, because I'm going to beat the prissy bitch out of you tomorrow after school."

All Kurt could do was let out a small whimper as he watched Blaine walk off to the locker room. A jumble of thoughts began to swarm about in Kurt's mind as he struggled to decide if he should freak out and find Finn, or calmly retreat back to Finn's car in the parking lot. He took a deep breath and buried his face in his shaking palms. He took a few more deep breaths, calming his racing thoughts. His face broke out into an expression of disgust as one thought stood out prominently in his mind. Blaine's ass looked incredible in that football uniform. Kurt scoffed at the weakness of his hormonal teenage boy mind. How could he possibly be thinking about how attractive the person that had just threatened to beat the living daylights out of him was. He groaned before collecting his things and racing off the bleachers to find Finn. He really needed to get his priorities straight.

Kurt soon found Finn a few minutes later walking away from the bulky football coach, a somber look on his face.

"Let's go, Kurt." Finn turned away from Kurt and began walking towards the parking lot.

"Wait, Finn, I have to tell you something."

"Not now, lets go!"

Kurt froze, his clenched fists trembling as he found himself suddenly whispering, "F-Fin…he threatened me…h-he said he's going to b-beat m-me up after school tomorrow."

Finn stopped, his body stiff as a board. As quickly as the sudden reaction came, it disappeared. He kept marching towards the parking lot, not even bothering to look at Kurt as he spoke.

"He's not going to do anything. Coach Beiste put him on probation. If he gets one more detention he's off the football team. He may be an arrogant bastard, but's he not an idiot. He won't do anything to you, he's just trying to freak you out…which is clearly working."

Kurt ignored the bitterness in Finn's voice as the corners of his mouth began to twitch upwards into a small, nervous smile. For the first time during his three days at McKinley he felt hope. He hadn't felt hope in what felt like years, mainly because he never had much to hope for during his dull homeschooling days. Finn turned to Kurt to see why he had suddenly stopped walking, taking a second to at his stepbrother's overjoyed expression before turning away from him. Kurt giddily followed after him. All he could think about was that he was safe. Blaine could tease him as much as he wanted, but thanks to Coach Beiste's probation Blaine couldn't lay a single finger on Kurt without risking his position as quarterback, and along with that, his popularity. Suddenly McKinley seemed just a bit less dreadful.

During the short drive back home Kurt listened intently to Finn's ranting. According to Coach Beiste nothing would happen to Blaine unless he got in trouble one more time. In the event that Blaine were to be kicked off the team Finn's close friend and fellow Glee Club member, Noah Puckerman, would take over as quarterback. Basically, Finn had no hope of gaining back his position of quarterback, or any other position on the football team for that matter, because of his decision to dedicate himself completely to Glee Club and quit football last year. Finn finally ended his rant when they pulled up to the Hudson-Hummel driveway. He sighed before stepping out of the car, slamming the door behind him. Kurt felt a pang of guilt in his heart as he stepped out of the car and began walking towards Clarissa's house across the street. He knew he was neglecting his responsibilities as a good stepbrother by allowing Finn to storm into the empty house alone, but then again, he'd dealt with Finn's temper tantrums before and knew from experience that it was best to let Finn spend some time alone for awhile.

He shrugged off all his worrying thoughts about Finn and did his best to clear his mind as he approached Clarissa's house. He stepped up to the doorway and nearly jumped out of his skin when his former homeschool teacher, Ms. Finch, threw the door open before Kurt could even raise his fist to knock.

"Kurt! It's great to see you!"

"O-oh, hey, Ms. Finch, it's great to see you too."

"Please, Kurt, you're not my student anymore, call me Anne."

Kurt smiled awkwardly, "S-Sure thing. So, um, is Clarissa home?"

"Oh, right, yes she is! I'm pretty sure she's upstairs getting ready for soccer practice. You can wait in the living room, I'll go get her now."

Kurt's brow furrowed at the mention of soccer practice. Clarissa was one of laziest and most antisocial people he knew, besides himself. The thought of Clarissa running around a muddy field chasing after a ball and socializing with other teenager girls didn't register in his mind. Just as Kurt settled down on the familiar couch in the living room Clarissa came bounding into the room, clad in a navy blue soccer uniform.

"Oh. My. God," was Kurt's only reply as he eyed the tacky uniform with disgust.

"Yeah, yeah, laugh it up, I play soccer now," she replied with a roll of the eyes before sitting down on the couch next to Kurt.

"So what made you suddenly decide to go over to the dark side?"

"The dark side?"

"Social interaction with other teenagers."

Clarissa snorted with laughter, "You're one to talk, you go to an actual high school, with other people!"

Kurt opened his mouth to make a comment about his vow of silence, then instantly closed his mouth again when he remembered that he hadn't told anyone about his vow of silence, and decided against telling Clarissa, knowing she wouldn't approve of his decision.

"Well, anyway, it wasn't my decision to sign up for soccer. My mom signed me up so I could make some new friends, because in case you haven't noticed I'm not exactly Ms. Popular." Clarissa rolled her eyes as she thought about the lecture her mother had given her last week about her needing new friends and began to fiddle around with the sweatband around her head anxiously.

"Still, you could've chosen something less…icky. You don't even like soccer!"

"Well what do you want from me? It was either this or go with my grandma to her pottery making classes on Mondays and Wednesdays, and I'd much rather play, well more like suck at playing, soccer than spend my nights with a bunch of elderly women complaining about the corruption of todays youth. Y'know, you should try joining clubs, I mean you are in a high school that's filled with clubs."

"… Nope. Don't think I will."

"You're incorrigible."

Kurt gave her a cheesy smile before resting his head on her shoulder. The two eased into a casual conversation about how Clarissa's homeschooling was going, and eventually Kurt told her a bit about his day, leaving out the threat from Blaine and the fight that had almost erupted between Finn and Blaine. Clarissa was worried enough about Kurt ever since he came to her after his first day in tears, she didn't need to worry herself even more with Blaine's empty threats.

The two talked for about another twenty minutes until Clarissa's mom came into the living room to tell her she had five minutes until they had to leave for soccer practice. Kurt instantly declined Clarissa's invitation to come to her practice, and then proceeded to give her a list of terrible things he'd much rather do than join her at soccer practice. Once he'd finally finished poking fun at Clarissa he gathered up his bag, gave her a parting hug and made his way back over to his own home. He'd hoped that by now Finn would have calmed down and would actually be approachable. As Kurt walked fumbled with his keys to the house Clarissa's comment about him joining clubs kept bothering him.

"Y'know, you should try joining clubs, I mean you are in a high school that's filled with clubs."

In a way, she was right. Kurt was going to have to spend the rest of the year at McKinley High, and if he was going to spend it not talking to a single person he could at least join one club to keep him from dying of boredom and monotony. He entered his house and wracked his brain for clubs at McKinley that wouldn't require him having to talk as he made his way downstairs to his bedroom. There was always chess club, they didn't have to talk. But then again, joining the chess club wouldn't exactly do wonders for his already terrible social status.

Finn always talked about how amazing the glee club at McKinley was…and technically singing wasn't exactly talking, Kurt thought to himself. He had done a bit of singing when he was younger, before his mother had died, and according to his family members and family friends he sounded like a "tiny chorus of angels". From the way Finn always talked about them, the members of Glee Club didn't seem all too bad. They were social outcasts too, and Kurt would be damned if they didn't welcome him, a fellow social outcast, with open arms. He smiled to himself as he stopped halfway down the stairs to his room and turned to run to Finn's room instead.

Finn sat cross-legged on his bed, his computer in front of him. He had just finished Skype-ing with Rachel, which had managed to calm him down quite a bit. Kurt pushed Finn's laptop away from him as he sat down across from his stepbrother, a wide smile on his face.

"What's up with you?" Finn asked, his brows furrowed.

"I want to join Glee Club!"

Oooh!! So, so good! This is one of the BEST Bad Boy Blaine fics I've ever read. I would love if Blaine just *happened* to walk past the choir room while Kurt was auditioning. Keep up the great work!
