Author's Notes: Here's chapter 6! I actually enjoyed writing this, though not so much the end of it. Poor Kurtie. :( but anyway, I hope you enjoy it!

The next morning, Blaine wasted no time rubbing the sleep from his eyes and jumping into the shower. It was a good thing he'd woken up early, since it took him a while to pick an outfit. Why was he even worrying about looking perfect? This wasn't a date. It was just two people having coffee and getting to know each other, that's all. And besides, he was engaged, and would be getting married in only a few months. So why was he acting this way?

Finally deciding on a plain, black t-shirt, paired with red skinny jeans and a bowtie to match, he gelled back his hair and slipped on his shoes. He repeated Lyla's over and over in his head as he typed the directions into his phone. He'd heard of the place, but he'd never actually been inside before.

Grabbing his keys, he headed out. The place was only a few blocks away from his apartment, and it was nice outside, so he just decided to walk there.

Once he reached the shop, he walked inside. He was shocked at the size of the place, because the outside looked so small. There were tables scattered throughout the shop; from the front to the back, where the bathrooms were located.

The walls were a cream colour, and were decorated with random designs and pictures of coffee. In the middle of the place, pushed up against the wall, were two brown beanbag chairs, placed on top of a rug that matched the walls.

He took a seat by the door so that he could watch for Kurt. Kurt. He finally knew his real name, and he liked it. Really liked it. It definitely fit him. His mind was filled with thoughts of Kurt. What he would be wearing, how his hair was going to look. Whether or not he'd actually show up. And that's when he started to get nervous. He crossed his legs uncomfortably, and his palms started to sweat.

The bell dinged, indicating somebody entering the shop. Blaine looked up and his breath hitched upon seeing the tall, pale-skinned boy stepping inside.

Kurt woke up extra early on Saturday morning, showering and going through his morning moisturizing routine. He stared at his closet for what seemed like forever until he finally picked out an outfit. The outfit consisted of a white-button up and a black vest, paired with black skinny jeans and knee-high black boots.

He checked his hair in the mirror for the third time, making sure it still looked perfect before leaving. He scribbled a short note to Rachel and set it down on the counter before grabbing his bag and descending down the staircase.

As he made his way down the sidewalk towards the coffee shop, he barely dodged getting splashed by a car who thought it'd be fun to speed through a puddle.

Getting closer to the shop, he started to feel self-conscious. He pulled out his compact mirror from his bag, adjusting a few stray hairs that fell in his face. He took a deep breath as he turned the corner. What if Blaine thought it was a mistake, and stood him up? Or what if something went wrong? Or he decided he never wanted to see Kurt anymore for some reason?

Get a hold of yourself, Hummel. Everything's going to be fine.

Since Blaine was sitting at the front of the shop, they spotted each other right away. They both grinned at each other and Blaine wiped his sweaty hands on his jeans before standing up and making his way over to the boy. "Hi," he breathed.

"Hi to you too. Um... should we go get coffee now?"

Blaine nodded, rubbing the back of his neck and laughed nervously as they walked up to the counter. "The usual?" a short, thin girl with thick, black hair pulled into a braid turned to Kurt. He nodded and looked over at Blaine, who was too busy secretly examining Kurt's outfit to notice it was his turn to order.

He blushed when he came back to reality and turned his attention to the girl behind the counter. "Uh... a Medium Drip would be fine, thanks," he said and reached to grab his wallet from his pocket. Kurt noticed and grabbed his wrist, stopping him. "It's on me," he smiled shyly as they moved out of the way for the next customer.

They grabbed their drinks and returned to the table Blaine was previously occupying. "You look... really good," he said quietly, using this as another excuse to check out Kurt again. He ignored the voice in his head screaming, what are you doing, idiot?! You're engaged! and ran his eyes over his body again.

Kurt took a sip of his coffee, his face turning slightly pink at the compliment. "Thank you," he flushed. "You don't look so bad yourself."

Blaine was just bringing his cup to his lips at Kurt's return of a compliment. He set it down and looked straight at the boy, a look of mock-offense plastering his face. "I say you look really good, and all I get is 'not so bad'? Gee, thanks."

He was flirting. Both he and Kurt were aware of this. And once again, Blaine ignored the voice in his head telling him to abort. Kurt just winked back in response, reaching for his drink again.

The next hour was filled with a lot of laughter, quite a few compliments, and blushing. They learned that they had both grown up in Ohio; Kurt at McKinley in Lima, Blaine at Dalton in Westerville, and they were both in Glee clubs.

Kurt learned that Blaine had went to NYU for music, and owned his own business where he taught his students to play all sorts of instruments and gave out singing lessons.

Blaine learned that Kurt had went to NYADA with Rachel, who Kurt had described as his "crazy, and obnoxious" best friend, though he transferred to FIT in his sophomore year. He also discovered Kurt had been in a few plays, though not big, Broadway productions like Kurt had hoped, but still, they were something and seemed to impress Blaine.

And then Blaine said it. He didn't even know why he'd said it, it just... slipped. "I'm engaged." He instantly regretted letting it slip out when he saw Kurt's face. What was that? It was definitely shock, but what else? Jealousy? Hurt? Both? He didn't know.

Figures, Kurt thought sourly to himself. Of course he was engaged. But if he was engaged, then why was he flirting with him? Because it wasn't just absent-minded flirting, Blaine was aware of it. And why did he let his friends drag him into the club that day? He didn't seem like the kind of guy who would do that. Or maybe he was just wrong about Blaine all together.

Kurt finally snapped out of his thoughts, realizing he'd been quiet too long by the look that Blaine was giving him. "O-oh," was all he managed to stumble out. Blaine only nodded.

"We're getting married in three months..." Blaine blurted out again and mentally smacked himself. Just stop talking. You're making everything worse.

Kurt had willed himself not to run out of the shop when he'd first heard that Blaine was engaged, but now he didn't care. He stood up, almost knocking over the chair and his coffee spilled all over the table and floor as the chair banged into it. He grabbed his satchel and sped out of the shop as soon as the tears started to pour out.

"Kurt," Blaine mumbled, looking down at his lap when he realized what he'd done. He felt the table shake and the chair slam into it. He looked back up, catching the tears starting to leak out of the boy's eyes. "Kurt!" he called again, though he just sat and watched him run out of the building. Fuck.

I had a feeling that this "date" wasn't going to end well. I'm curious to see how Blaine plans to fix this.

Aww poor Kurt ...
