The next day Blaine woke up, Kurt still sleeping next to him. Blaine took a moment to just look at his boyfriend. His boyfriend. Jut the sound of that made his heart jump. Kurt's hair was messed up and Blaine had to fight the urge to let his fingers stroke it. He took in Kurt's pale skin. The skin of his arms that were placed right and left from his body. What Blaine saw shocked him. All over the pale, soft skin, there were scars. They looked as if they were done on purpose. Blaine had to bite back the tears that started to gather in his eyes, by the thought of Kurt doing that to himself or someone doing it to him.
He couldn't believe the letter, how could anyone think about harming his innocent, beautiful Kurt.
But that brought the question, what had made Kurt do it to himself, the boy must have been through more than Blaine thought.
Blaine stared at the scars and wondered what he could do to help his boyfriend. He was so vulnerable and shy, maybe that was also the effect of something really painful that happened to him in the past. And why didn't he have a mark? He deserved a soulmate more than anyone else in this damn world. And even though Blaine knew that his soulmate would probably wait for him somewhere, since his mark was removed not that it never existed, he knew deep down inside that he would leave that guy behind for Kurt. He would do everything to make Kurt happy. He loved him, and it was only now that it came to him, where he had last seen Kurt's eyes.
It hit him like lightning.
A blurry memory of a train station. A baby, crying in his mother's arms. Reaching out, pressing his little hands against a window and looking right into Blaine's eyes.
He couldn't make out where he had seen that, but it seemed like he had definitely seen it before. Also he was hundred percent sure it was Kurt's eyes staring at him, Kurt's soul opening up to him through the baby's....No, through Kurt's eyes.
With the memory came a feeling. Not a happy one, it felt like being ripped apart and left behind with the worse part of your heart. The moment he had seen the baby on the train, leaving him behind, he had felt excatly that, ripping apart.
Kurt turned in his sleep and Blaine remembered where he was. He would talk to Kurt about the scars later. Now they would have to get some breakfast and face his friends that were going to freak out if Blaine told them Kurt was his boyfriend.
"Kurt, baby, wake up." Blaine said sweetly, softly pecking the boy's nose.
"Hmm?" Kurt turned again so he was facing Blaine with closed eyes.
"You are so cute when you wake up you know that?" Blaine giggled at his adorable boyfriend.
Kurt buried his face in his pillow and Blaine could see his ears turning bright pink which meant Kurt was blushing.
"Aww, you are even cuter when you blush, babe." Blaine whispered against his cheek before he kissed his cheek and wrapped his arms around the boy.
"You gotta get up though. We might be late for breakfast."
"But I like my bed." Kurt whined and Blaine chuckled.
"Yeah and I like breakfast so C'mon I'm not gonna go down there without my gorgeuous boyfriend."
Kurt blushed even harder.
He smiled into his pillow like an idiot.
"Hey, are you gonna get out of the bed by yourself or do I have to tickle you, so you get up?"
Blaine waited for a few seconds then he said "I take it, you need sometickling before you wake up hmm?"
Blaine chuckled because Kurt showed no sign of getting up. Blaine started tickling Kurt's sides and made the other boy squeal. "Stop it, Blaine, please." He said giggling.
He turned around and playfully tried kicking Blaine who could now attack Kurt's stomach.
"Blaine, please."
Blaine laughed and his boyfriend pouted at him, the most adorable look on his face.
"Aww, you really are cute." Blaine said and before Kurt could hide beneath the pillows again he tackled him down and kissed him sweetly.
