But everyone had a soulmate. Except for him. He knew from school that his soulmate's name was written on the person's wrist since the day of their birth.
The problem was Kurt had never seen that particular mark on his wrist.
He got bullied for it. He was the person who didn't deserve to be loved and happy.
His mother soon saw how horrible it made Kurt feel, but still she couldn't bring herself to tell him that she got his mark removed two days after his birth.
It wasn't an easy decision for her to make because she knew, that the boy would have trouble in school because of that. But she didn't want her baby to be in danger everywhere he went, just because of a stupid name written on his wrist.
She got it removed, because of Mr. Anderson. She knew one thing about him; That he wouldn't give up. She knew that, if the doctor was right, about what he had said about William, that Kurt's life had been in danger the minute he was born.
Tears started to form in Kurt's eyes as he looked down on his pale wrists, still no sign of a name there, just the scars that his razorblades had caused, on purpose. His wrists looked even paler than usual with the moon shining down on them.
Blaine stepped closer and softly cupped Kurt's cheek, causing him to look him in the eyes.
Kurt's eyes shone with tears. But he smiled softly. Not because he felt like he was forced to; But because he couldn't help it. Blaine made him smile. It was like each of Blaine's words, touches and smiles lifted the corners of Kurt's mouth up.
"May I?" Blaine whispered.
Kurt just nodded. One part of his head yelled at him to make Blaine stop because Blaine had a soulmate as well and it was sure as hell not Kurt, but the other part of his head , the stronger one, only saw Blaine's kindness and felt his warm touch and wanted nothing more than being loved by him.
When their lips finally met, Kurt felt home. The war inside his head had stopped the second Blaine's lips touched his. Home.
Kurt was finally where he belonged. He felt Blaine's arms tighten around his waist pulling him closer. He brought his arms up and wrapped them around Blaine's neck, keeping the other boy close. When they broke the kiss Kurt realized he was crying. Not because he was sad but because he was overwhelmed. He had always wanted his first kiss to be something special and romantic, but this was more than he'd ever expected. Outthere in the dark beneath the moon in cold night, it had been absolutly perfect.
But he couldn't help but ask Blaine the question that had been on his mind since he heard Blaine say that he was unhappy Kurt wasn't his boyfriend yet.
"Don't you have a soulmate, Blaine?" he said, not wanting to let go yet, but forcing himself to step away a little.
Blaine looked down. "Sadly, No, not really. My dad told me that he got my mark removed cuz he didn't want me to turn out to be a fag." Kurt could see a tear making it down the curly-haired boy's face. "Hey" Kurt said, stepping closer. "C'mere." He pulled Blaine, who was openly sobbing now into his arms and waited for him to calm down a little. "I don't have a soulmate either, you know." Kurt mumbled into the boy's hair.
"Why?" Blaine asked, looking up.
"I dunno" Kurt admitted softly.
"I think, I found him, though." he smiled, kissing Blaine softly.
Blaine smiled into the kiss. It felt right. So natural.
When they broke apart Blaine stepped away to take a look at Kurt, beautiful, smart, sweet, caring Kurt. "Kurt?" he asked, sounding shy. Kurt had never heard him like this, as if he was afraid something was going to be taken from him if he did anything wrong. "Will you be my boyfriend?"
Blaine asked into the silence of the night. It was barely a whisper but Kurt heard it as if it was louder then the audience at a football game. "Of course." Kurt said, hugging Blaine tightly to his chest. "I'd love that."
Blaine smiled. They sat down on a bench made of stone that was near the edge of the tower. Blaine wrapped his arms around Kurt and the blue-eyed boy put his head on Blaine's ches, snuggling closer as they looked up in the sky.
Kurt soon fell asleep in Blaine's arms, the moonlight shining down on them. Blaine smiled. Kurt trusted him, he had agreed to being his boyfriend.
To Blaine nothing had ever felt as much as home as this. Kurt. His Kurt sleeping in his arms looking peaceful and so beautiful, it felt like he had always known that something was missing and now he had found exactly what it was.
Kurt shivered in his sleep as a cold wind started blowing around them.
Blaine picked Kurt up, not wanting to wake him up, and carried him down the stairs again.Still asleep, Kurt's arms tightened around Blaine's neck his legs wrapping around the other boys waist. Blaine was thankful for that because he had to get his boyfriend down the ladder somehow.
When he made it, he softly put him down on the bed and covered him in blankets.
Then he removed the nightstand, that seperated their beds and pushed his bed as close as possible to Kurt's.
Afterwards he laid down as well, staring at his wonderful boyfriend.
"Blaine" Kurt whispered in his sleep. "Don't leave, please, don't. I need you, please. No"
Kurt rolled around on his side of the bed and Blaine saw tears running down his face.
Blaine moved towards him on the bed, hugging him to his chest. "I'm here, it's allright. Shh."
Kurt relaxed almost immediatly and snuggled closer to Blaine, burrying his face in Blaine's T-shirt.
Blaine kissed his head and stroked his hair for a while then he fell asleep as well.
