"Blaine?" Cooper asked, when he sat down next to him.
"I have to talk to you."
"I don't wanna talk. My boyfriend is sad and I can't help him." Blaine said staring down at his blueberry muffin, he also had bought one for Kurt, just in case he wanted one.
"Look, Blaine I know who did this to Kurt's mom and why."
"Cooper, are you kidding me? Kurt wonders why. Why didn't you tell us?"
"Because I don't think you you're going to like what I'm about to tell you." Cooper said uneasily.
"Just tell me Cooper."
"It was Dad."
"WHAT? Cooper, please tell me that's not true. Why would he do that? I know I haven't seen him in ages since he kicked me out cuz I'm gay but why would he hurt an innocent woman like that?"
"Did Dad ever tell you why you don't have a soulmate, Blaine?"
"Yeah, because he removed my name because he didn't want me turning out a "fag", to quote him."
Blaine was surprised how calm he was talking about his dad who had made his boyfriend's life so much harder.
"Yeah, exactly. The night you were born, Mom died giving birth to you. Dad was there, you know and he saw the name on your wrist. He recognized it. Your Mom used to have a best friend, that friend found out that Dad was abusing Mom and tried to make Mom leave him but she didn't. That made her friend upset and they never talked to eachother again. That friend is Kurt's mom."
"But, how did they know eachother? Kurt is from Lima. We live in Westerville."
"Kurt was born the same night as you were, Blaine. In the same hospital, the same minute. Just rooms apart."
"W-what?" Blaine was absolutly confused by now. He had no idea what his brother was talking about.
"Dad, when he found out about Mom's death he wanted to take you home with him and he did. He saw the name on your wrist. It said Hummel. Kurt Hummel. You are his soulmate, Blaine, and Dad hated the fact that you were going to be gay."
"But what does this have to do with anything? Why didn't he just left Kurt's name there."
"He didn't want you to be gay. And what he wanted even less was Elizabeth to be the mother of your soulmate he thought by erasing the name you wouldn't find Kurt."
"How do you know that?"
"I used to overhear dad's phone calls. However that night at the hospital I heard my Dad saying that he would do everything to keep you away from that baby. I heard him talking about murder and I ran and found the next doctor to tell Kurt's mom to run away with Kurt. He did tell Kurt's mom and the next morning they took a train. You saw Kurt once in your life at the train station. You looked at him through the glass of the window and he looked back, right into your eyes as if he had known from the start that you and him were supposed to be together. From that day on Dad wanted to kill Kurt." The last two words made Blaine stop breathing. "I won't let that happen, I never will. Why did he attack Kurt's mom?" Blaine was crying now, he just couldn't hold back the tears anymore. His beautiful Kurt was in danger because his Dad wanted him dead.
"A few days ago" Cooper said. "I- I was visiting and he suddenly burst into the room and told me how he would go and end Kurt's life because you found him. It's all my fault. I think he heard me talk to you or something." Cooper said and buried his face in his hands.
Blaine just stared at him with confusion written all over his face.
Then he finally stood up and went back to Kurt, taking the blueberry muffin with him. "I gotta tell him, coop. Even though he is going to break up with me when he knows it."
"What should I know?" Kurt said and stood in the door frame.
