Hi! So sorry for the delay! I shouldnt make promises i cant keep... Ill have the next chapter up as soon as I can. Please continue to leave feedback. It means so much! Xoxo

Isabelle Wright handed Kurt a stack of papers and said, "just look over it tonight and well discuss ideas in the morning. Im counting on you, Kurt."

"I wont let you down. Ill see you tomorrow," Kurt replied, turning out the door with the papers still in his arms. In his haste to get home, due to Rachels text message ten minutes ago saying, "Kuuuurt. I know youre almost out of work, so can you pleeeease hurry home?" He decided to wait until he reached a seat on the subway before filing his papers in his bag.

Exiting the building, Kurt made his way down the street and sharply rounded a corner. He collided with someone and his papers flew everywhere. "Damn it. Im so sorry," he called after the person.

He bent down to collect his papers, when he saw another set of hands picking them up. Kurt felt grateful that someone took the time to help. When he stood up to thank the person, his breath caught in his chest. "T-thanks," he whispered.

"Dont mention it," Dylan muttered, turning to walk away.

Heart pounding in his chest, Kurt had two options. He could either try to talk to Dylan and find some sort of closure or let him walk away... But Kurt had felt guilty about what he did to Dylan. The only reason he never fully apologized was because Dylan wanted nothing to do with him. Hesitating, Kurt spun around and called, Dylan, wait!"

Dylan froze, his back to Kurt, taking a moment to consider his own options. Letting out a long sigh, he faced Kurt and said, "what?"

Fidgeting with his papers, Kurt stuttered, "i-Im really sorry a-about... what happened... between us."

"Yeah, me too," Dylan said harshly, crossing his arms over his chest.

"How are you? Are you doing okay?" Kurt asked, taking a step forward nervously. He didnt know how much Dylan was willing to take.

"Im getting by," Dylan shrugged, placing his hands in his pocket.

"Dylan," Kurt said quietly. He couldnt help but notice the uncomfortable hand movements.

Holding up a hand, Dylan said, "Look, its done. I dont want to linger on it. If were going to run into each other every once in a while, I dont need it getting brought up all the damn time. You really hurt me, you know."

"I know, Im sorry," Kurt bowed his head.

"Its a little too late for apologies, isnt it? Nothing you can do to change it," Dylan replied, narrowing his eyes.

"Yeah, I suppose," Kurt said, biting his lip.

"Was it worth it?" Dylan asked quietly, leaning against the building next to him. Anguish consumed his expression. "I mean, are you still with him?"

"Yeah," Kurt nodded, looking into his eyes. Now that Dylan asked, he might as well be honest. "Were, um, engaged."

Eyes downcast, Dylan said, "oh." He took a deep breath, "youre already engaged to this guy?"

"Its... its complicated, Dyl," Kurt said, his heart breaking for Dylan. It was the same hurt Rachel felt being with Blaine for so long and having him move on so quickly. The pain had sent Rachel to therapy. Was Dylan that broken too? Was Kurt capable of breaking someone that much?

"Dont call me that. Just... " Dylan paused, straightening his posture. A fire burned in his eyes and he said, "You were with me for two fucking years, and youre already engaged to him after a couple months? You cant even tell me that the times you were with him before counted because you were still with me."

"I dont know what to say," Kurt said breathlessly. Apparently he was capable of hurting Dylan that much. "Things with Blaine have been complicated from day one. But I never meant to hurt you the way I did."

"Youre too late there," Dylan huffed, crossing his arms over his chest once again. His forehead creased and his eyes gave way to disappointment. His emotions were everywhere and he couldnt hide it. Dylan ran a hand through his hair and said, "Are you happy?"

Kurt thought about Blaine and his stomach flipped. Of course he was happy. He had been happier with Blaine than he ever had been with Dylan. "Yeah, I am," he nodded.

"Well... good," Dylan said shortly. "At least I know we didnt break up over a fling. I would have been really pissed at you if it was all for nothing."

"Yeah," Kurt said quietly, feeling the same way. Their break up wouldnt have even happened if Blaine hadnt meant something. He gazed into Dylans eyes and asked, "Are you happy?"

Shaking his head, Dylan replied, "No but I guess Ill get there, wont I?"

"I hope so," Kurt said truthfully. A dull ache in his chest made him feel worse. "I hope you find someone that really makes you happy."

"You made me happy," Dylan said bitterly.

"But you deserve someone so much better, and I hope you find him," Kurt gave him a weak smile.

Shuffling uncomfortably, Dylan said, "I should go."

"Yeah... Yeah, me too," Kurt said, remembering Rachels eager text message. "Im glad we ran into each other... Ill see you later., okay?"

"See you," Dylan replied. He held out a hand and Kurt shook it firmly.

Mind buzzing, Kurt ran for the subway, and when he was finally on the train, he was able to shove his papers in his bag. He then shot Rachel a message.

New Message To Rachel:

On my way... Everything okay? You are not going to believe what just happened!"

New Message from Rachel:

Kurt Hummel! You can not do that to me! What happened?!

New Message To Rachel:

Tell you when I get there. 15 minutes.

Kurt walked through the apartment door and found Rachel sitting on the couch with a container of chocolate ice cream in her hand. "Hey, whats going on? Are you okay?" he asked, hanging up his leather jacket.

"Yeah... I was just having these strong contractions. I mean, theyre definitely Braxton Hicks. But they were uncomfortable and kind of freaked me out at first. I just wanted you here," Rachel set the ice cream down on the table in front of her. She sat up, "What about you? Are you all right? What happened?"

Sighing, Kurt sat down on the couch, placing his arm around her shoulders and admitted, "I ran into Dylan on my way home."

"What?" Rachel replied. Her jaw dropped.

"I literally ran into him and we started talking," Kurt told her, glancing down at his hand. "Hes in rough shape. He tried to hide it but his eyes were practically screaming in agony. I felt terrible for causing him so much pain.."

"Not guilty enough to regret this with Blaine?" Rachel asked.

Shaking his head, Kurt said, "No. No, I love Blaine and I know in my heart I made the right decision. I wasnt happy with Dylan. I mean, I cared about him and I once thought I couldnt live without him but..." Kurt scooted closer to Rachel and placed his free hand on her round stomach. "This feels so right being here with you, the baby, and Blaine. I feel like Im a part of something and I cant imagine ever losing what we have now."

"Im really glad you feel that way," Rachel smiled, resting her head on his shoulder. "It makes me feel better about the decision we made."

"And youre still sure about that? Blaine and I set up an appointment to discuss it with an agent for Wednesday," Kurt told her.

"Im positive," Rachel said seriously. Changing the subject, because it clearly was hard for her, she said, "Are you going to tell Blaine about Dylan?"

"Why wouldnt I?" Kurt asked. "I have nothing to hide from Blaine. I think it was a nice closure for me. I hated thinking about how angry Dylan was with me for doing this to him. Every time I thought about him, it hurt. But even though I know hes hurting, he was kind enough to be civil and I think that means a step in the right direction. Dylan will heal in time and that makes me feel better."

"I can understand that. Its like, after everything Ive been through, I never thought Id get over Blaine but," she paused, tucking her hair behind her ear. "I never thought Id get over Finn either. And then I met Blaine and he made me feel alive again. My therapist told me it might be one reason I cant let Blaine go, because he saved me. I feel like losing the person that healed my broken heart means that Im losing the part of me that mourned Finn, like Im totally letting go of his memory."

"Youll never lose Finn completely, because hes in your heart," Kurt said. "Finn isnt Blaine."

Placing a hand on her chest, Rachel smiled, "I know. Hell always have a place there." She bit her lip and dropped her hand. "Did you ever think wed end up here?"

"What do you mean?" Kurt asked.

"In high school, I always thought Id marry Finn and youd find some guy and the four of us would have taken on this city together," she sighed. "Were still together but in a different way. Hell, if it werent for Blaine, I probably never would have been happy after Finn died. He gave me strength to move forward."

"If it werent for Blaine, I wouldnt be happy either. I saw myself today, when I ran into Dylan. I saw this version of me, the one that told me I never would have made it with Blaine." Kurt shook his head, "I was only surviving with Dylan. We werent really living anymore... Thats probably why I felt the urge to make out with Blaine after knowing him a couple weeks. It made me feel alive again. And even though I felt bad for Dylan today, I also felt so grateful that Blaine saved me from only surviving."

Folding her hands under her belly, Rachel smiled, "Hes put us both through a lot but Blaine really is a blessing, isnt he?"

"Yeah," Kurt smiled.

"You guys," Blaines voice startled both of them. He stood near the door with a grin on his face. "I only just walked in during the last part of that conversation, but man, what a welcome home. Im touched."

"Come here," Rachel motioned him forward. She took her hand and grasped his wrist. "I love you both so much and I know its been a difficult road but Im glad were here."

"Me too," Blaine leaned over and kissed Kurts forehead.

"Wouldnt change it for the world," Kurt replied

"Kurt Hummel and Blaine Anderson?" A tall woman entered a small waiting room. She smiled at them, as they stood up. Blaine placed his hand around Rachels waist and guided her toward the door.

"Hi there," Kurt greeted the woman. He took a seat between Rachel and Blaine, while the woman moved to the other side of her desk.

"So from what I understand, youre interested in adoption?" Nancy Gated asked. Placing a pair of glasses on her face, she looked over a stack of papers on her desk.

"Yes," Kurt said eagerly.

Nancy looked up at him, "And the baby belongs to -"

"Rachel and myself," Blaine said anxiously, nodding toward Rachels belly.

The woman studied Rachel for a moment. "Ah, I see," she said, taking her glasses off and setting them on the desk. Folding her hands, she said, "Are you a surrogate?"

"Uh, well, kind of. I mean, Blaine and I were...together and we got pregnant," Rachel explained. "It was an accident but we didnt want to give it up."

"But I had been with her for wrong reasons and now Im with Kurt," Blaine said, entwining his fingers with his boyfriends. "Kurt and I are engaged and we want the baby to be ours."

"And youre okay with that?" The woman raised her eyebrows at Rachel. "Because this is something I need you to agree are, first and foremost, the mother of the child."

Glancing down at her belly, Rachel ran a hand across it and frowned. "Yes, Im sure," she said quietly. It was a hard decision to make but one she had convinced herself was the right thing to do.

Nancy Gates studied Rachel closely before she began scribbling on a piece of paper and said, "All right. So... Kurt? Do you mind if I ask you a few questions?"

"Uh, sure," Kurt blushed, feeling flustered that he had been put on the spot.

"Are you currently employed?" Nancy asked, still scribbling on her page.

"Yes, I work at Vogue," Kurt told her. "Ive been employed there for a few months now. Its a wonderful job."

"Good," Nancy nodded. She looked over her sheet again, as she began firing more questions at him. She then rounded on Blaine and Rachel. Kurt lost track of time, and when they finally wrapped up the conversation, Kurts mind felt fuzzy. It was so much information to take in. "I think everything looks good here. I just need to go over some things and Ill be in touch with you soon," Nancy announced.

"Thank you," Kurt rose from his chair and shook her hand. Wrapping his arm around Blaines waist, Kurt followed Rachel out the door.

"Im so tired," Rachel stretched. "I think Im ready to head home and take a nap, if shell let me." She patted her stomach. "Whats your plan?"

"I think Im going to take Kurt out," Blaine told her. "Get some sleep. Well see you later, okay?"

"See you," Rachel nodded, hailing a cab the moment they hit the streets.

"Where are we going?" Kurt asked, following his boyfriend down the sidewalk.

"Youll see," Blaine replied, taking Kurt by the hand and leading him to the subway. "But more importantly, are you okay? You got kind of quiet near the end. I know its a lot to take on."

"Yeah, just a lot to think about," Kurt nodded.

"Are you regretting this decision?" Blaine asked, raising his thick eyebrows.

"Never," Kurt smiled, kissing his cheek. "Im committed to this. Youre not going to change my mind now."

They made their way in to the train and Kurt tried to follow the map to guess where Blaine was going to get off. He wasnt sure what Blaine was after, when he did finally pull Kurt off the train.

"What are we doing?" Kurt asked, growing impatient. They were near Times Square and Kurt just couldnt figure out why.

"This," Blaine swung a door open and ushered Kurt inside before he had a chance to see where they were. Blaine guided him over to a counter and said, "I was browsing the other day and I found this really handsome ring."

"You went ring shopping?" Kurt gasped, realizing they were in a jewelry shop.

"Browsing," Blaine corrected. "I went ring browsing."

"Blaine," Kurt huffed, placing his hands on his hips. "You went ring shopping. Why didnt you tell me?"

"Im telling you now," Blaine shrugged. "if were getting married in a few weeks, we have to get rings and I think I found the right one."

"Are we?" Kurt raised an eyebrow. "I mean, we never really discussed a date or anything... I didnt know we were talking about a few weeks."

"I thought, maybe, with adopting the baby, youd want to get married before she came," Blaine told him. "I mean, considering you proposed so early, I thought maybe you wouldnt mind." Blaine took both of his hands and kissed them, saying, "I want us to be a family and I want to do it the right way."

"You really want to get married in the next few weeks?" Kurt asked, his stomach flipping.

"Yeah," Blaine whispered. Their lips met and Blaine cupped the side of Kurts face gently. When he pulled back, his thumb brushed Kurts cheek and he said, "I found these beautiful ring that I think would be perfect for us. I want us to have matching rings."

Following Blaine to the counter, Kurts eyes fell on a silver ring with a spiraled design across it. "You know what would look great right there?" Kurt breathed. He turned to face Blaine and said, "Our initials."

"I thought about that too," Blaine said, admiring the spot where the design stopped. "K&B."

"B&K," Kurt offered. "I shouldnt be first."

"Yes, you should. Putting the K first sounds way better," Blaine laughed, winning Kurt over. He loved the sound of Blaines laugh.

"Okay, it does," Kurt admitted.

"Hello there," an older woman stepped up to the counter, smiling at them. "Can I help you?"

"Uh, well, weve taken an interest in that ring. My fiancé and I would like to have matching bands," Blaine said, taking Kurts hand in his.

"An excellent choice. I think itd fit you well," she reached into the case and pulled out the ring. "Would you like a better look at it?"

"Yes," Kurt reached for it and took it in his hand. Blaine grasped his hand in both of his. "This really is beautiful, babe."

"So are you," Blaine smiled. "And its going to look beautiful on you." He kissed Kurts hand and said, "I cant wait to put in on you."

The stack of envelopes was growing larger by the minute. "So we have all the Warblers... Wes, David, Trent... And all of the New Directions... Tina, Artie, Sam and of course Mr. schuester," Kurt concluded, staring at the pile. "I hope we didnt forget anyone."

"Theres family... Your dad and Carole," Blaine set another envelope on the stack.

"But youre still not inviting your parents?" Kurt asked nervously. He hadnt brought it up but they had to make a decision while the invitations were before them.

"No," Blaine said firmly. "But Im thinking about inviting Cooper." When Kurt looked at him quizzically, he added, "You were right before. Coop was kind enough to try to be helpful, even if it was because it was the right thing to do. I should at least invite him to my wedding."

Kurt smiled, "Im glad you made that decision. You need him and I think he needs you too."

"I doubt hell accept after how rude I was to him," Blaine responded. "But I guess I can hope to straighten this out..." He frowned. "I just know I wont straighten things out with my parents until I tell them Im straight."

"It doesnt hurt to try," Kurt shrugged. He thought about that same thing as Blaine got up and moved across the room. He shut the bathroom door and Kurt acted quickly. Stuffing an invitation into an envelope, he wrote "Pamela and Michael Anderson." He reached for Blaines address book and found his parents address. He wrote it down, stamped it and shoved it in the middle of the stack of envelopes.

"What was it going to hurt? If they said yes, Blaine would be thrilled. If they said no, Blaine would never have to find out about it. Kurt wouldnt let him get crushed again. He would keep the denial from Blaine.

just as Kurt began addressing an envelope to Mike Chang, the bathroom door opened and Blaine said, "So you think itd be okay to invite Coop?"

"Yeah, go for it," Kurt encouraged his boyfriend. "Were almost done here. I can finish up and get it to the post office if you want."

"Are you sure?" Blaine asked. Kurt nodded and Blaine leaned over to kiss him. "Thanks, Kurt... Ive got some school work I need to finish by midnight."

"No problem," Kurt said, sliding the stack of envelopes closer to him. There wasnt much left to do. Being so last minute, they werent having a big wedding, but they wanted to invite close friends and family. Kurt finished the invitations and announced that he was going to drop off the envelopes.

He made his way to the post office and stood in line for ten minutes. Blaine had text him in that time and Kurt began thinking about the envelope addressed to his parents. Blaines message made him smile and he dreaded the idea of Blaine being angry with him.

New Message From Blaine:

I miss you and I cant concentrate. Hurry up.

New Message To Blaine:

Blaine! Turn your phone off and get to work!

New message From Blaine:

Well if you would stop texting me...

New Message To Blaine:

Youre impossible.

New message from Blaine.

;)

"Next!" A man called across the room, signaling Kurt to come forward.

"Oh," Kurt fumbled with the envelopes, stepping forward. "I want to send these out." he told the man. Setting them on the counter, a few fluttered to the floor and he bent down to pick them up. Pam and Michaels names caught his eye and he stared at the envelope with uncertainty.

Was he making a mistake? Would Blaine be angry if his parents decided to go? Would he be happy if they said yes? Or what if he found out they said no? Should he send this at all?

"Is that the last of them?" the man behind the counter asked, placing the envelopes on a scale.

"Um..." Kurt considered ripping up the invitation right there.

"Hand it over. I dont have all day," the man gestures to the line behind Kurt.

Hesitating, Kurt handed over the envelope and let out a long sigh. He really hoped he was making the right decision.
