How do I contact the site administrators?
There are a couple of different ways you can contact an admin depending on your query. If you have encountered a bug or anything that looks off on our side, please submit your findings in the Report a Bug form. For any other inquiry, you can email admin@scarvesandcoffee.net. If your query is urgent, you can message admin atlas here on S&C or on Discord (atlas#3703).
I forgot my password! What do I do now?
You can reset your password using the "Forgot Password?" link on the login page.
How do I change my password?
You can change your password on the profile settings page here. Click the "Reset Password" button under the email field.
I forgot my username! Help!
When you go to the "Forgot Password?" page and enter your email, you will receive an email including your username.
How do I change my username?
You can change your username on the profile settings page here. Just change your username in the first field and click "Save" at the bottom.
How do I delete my account?
If you want to delete your account, you can email admin@scarvesandcoffee with your request. Please be sure that you are absolutely certain you want to delete your account and all stories/info connected to it, as this action cannot be undone.

How do I submit stories?
When you are logged in, you should see a "Submit" button in the top right corner of the webpage in the navigation bar. From there, you will be able to choose between four different entry types: Series, Story, One Shot, and Chapter. There are descriptions of each on the page. Please note that you must create a story before adding chapters to it. To select multiple categories or characters, hold the ctrl button as you click each one.
What are the ratings used on the site?
As previous sites have had issues using the MPAA ratings (film ratings G, PG, etc.) we have decided to use a different rating system on S&C going forward. The ratings are:
- NR: This serves as a default/general rating and won't be shown to users under 18. If you're unsure what rating to use, you can use this one as a general rating. Be sure to elaborate on any themes or content that may be sensitive in the story notes and warnings if you go that route.
- K: Suitable for all ages. Must be free of coarse language, violence, or adult themes. Think animated kids movie (comparable to G or PG).
- T: Suitable for teens/those 13+. May include minor coarse language, minor violence, or minor suggestive adult themes.
- M: Not suitable for all ages. May include coarse language, violence, or suggestive adult themes.
- E: If you've got smut, it goes under this category, no question about it.
Where can I find a beta reader?
You can find a beta reader on the Beta Readers page (or on another site like Tumblr). If you are interested in being a beta reader, you can select the "is beta reader" on the Profile Settings page and fill out the beta reader info fields.
Can you save whole stories as ePubs or PDFs?
Our new site does not currently offer this feature, though we are looking into adding it sometime in the future.
I'm following a work in progress story and I want to be notified when the next chapter is up. How do I do that?
If you are logged into the site, you can press the "Track Story" button on any story or chapter to begin tracking the story. You will receive site notifications by default for any chapters updated to a story you are following or you can choose to receive email notifications. You can change these settings on the Notification Settings page.
You can track a user by going to their profile page and clicking the "Track" button in the right sidebar. This will send you notifications when the user submits any kind of entry.
If the story or one shot is part of a series, you can also track the series to get notifications when any other story, one shot, or chapter is added in the series.
You can see which stories and series you're tracking in the Tracked Stories page in the left navigation bar. Notifications will be on the Notifications Page, indicated by a glowing dot on the bell icon in the top right of the navigation bar.
What's the difference between Tracking a story and Bookmarking it?
When you track a story, you will receive notifications when it updates. When you bookmark a series, story, chapter, or one shot, you can find them in the Bookmarks page. This function simply serves as a virtual bookmark you can use to save the chapter you're on in a story or save a good-looking story for later reading.
I accidently deleted my story! Can I get it back?
No, there is no way we can retrieve a deleted story. It's a smart idea to keep a copy of the story in something like Microsoft Word or Google Docs on your computer/the cloud just in case.
How do I add pictures to my stories?
For now, to add a picture to a chapter or one shot (that's not the cover image), you will have to upload the picture to an external site like Photobucket, Imgbb, or Imgur. These sites will give you a direct source address/URL to the image which you can paste in the "Image URL" field of the "Insert Image" dialogue that pops up when you click the image icon in the top right corner of the text editor.
Series, stories, and one shots allow you to upload a cover image directly to the site's database. These images will appear around the title/summary in the search and detail views.
